Rolling Stones radio is back at Sirius/XM

Deep tracks has been turned into Rolling Stones radio until the day after Labor Day.

They have had a few nice Charlie Watts comments on different songs through the years. The playlist is quite generic but thought everyone should know.

I am doing my own Charlie Watts radio by having my vast Stones catalog play on random through my laptop through out the house speakers.

Its like channel 28 or something. Did they make this change because of Charlie's death or was this already planned and thats just nutso timing?

From the Sirius website:

“SiriusXM honors Rolling Stone drummer Charlie Watts with music & memories on the return of Rolling Stones Radio. Rediscover undeniable rock & roll classics, rarities, live cuts & more covering their almost 6 decade career. Rolling Stones Radio, a SiriusXM Limited Engagement Channel on now through Labour Day in the Deep Tracks Channel 27.”

Best 50 bucks you will ever spend.

They're playing "Living In The Heart Of Love" from the upcoming TY release (and bootleg).

I have a question as I'm new to Syrius radio. Was there a permanent Rolling Stones channel at one time? If so why did it go away? I would think bands/artists with vast catalogs like the Stones/Dylan/Neil Young would be shoe ins to have their own stations. Other artists have their own stations with far less material.

Was listening to Jim Ladd on Deep Tracks the day Charlie passed. He was playing all Stones songs and he said that the channel was going to be Rolling Stones Radio again after his show ended and until Labor Day. It's the only channel that has been playing in my car or home. They're mixing in some rare live songs and singles. Good stuff overall and they should make it permanent!

There was a Stones channel back in the 2000s and it ended shortly after my subscription started around 2007 or so. They absolutely need to bring it back, but as always, it comes down to contracts and compensation I'm sure.

Sirius did have a dedicated RS channel. At some point it went away. Possibly when it became SiriusXM?

The Stones should have their own station. As should Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

Agree that Sirius should have a Stones channel.

Perhaps they have access to limited number of songs? They played She's So Cold and Wild Horses 3 times this morning within a 3 hour span.

Thanks for posting this.

Just turned in on. The show, "Laying it Down with Steve Jordan" is starting right now. Interview with Charlie from August 6th, 2019. Spectacular!

Really---check this out. It's close to an hour long. Tons of great insights about drumming and music and also Stones' history and stories. He's talking about Brian now. Great stuff.

Pretty sure this is the direct link!
