Should they then combine the 2 groups and have them do a permanent residency in Vegas @ Cesar's Coliseum ? They would rake it in and would run out of bank vaults to fill !Quote

Someone on Twitter pointed out how the Stones have a singer and two guitarists left while the Beatles have a drummer and a bass player

I'm all for lesser songs ... 90 mins is ideal! 120 mins max! I never cared for the 3 hour shows much ('81 I did, but that was my first time).
Hey folks
I just don´t get it - people, who ever they are, thinking they are in charge of deciding when it´s time for Mick, Keith, Ronnie and the band to call it a day??!!??
Who the hell do you think you are?
What "rules" are you talking about?
Did you ever spend a thought that what made the Stones great was them being reluctant to any of these expectations?
Sorry, I don´t GET IT!!!
And I´m looking forward to Europe 22!
Agree on all counts .... just not sure what that had to do w/ quoting me.
Hello - I´m terribly sorry, cause I quoted the wrong thing!
Excuse me please!

„ Guys, whatever you do, don’t try and grow old gracefully. It wouldn’t suit you.” Pete Townshend, R‘n‘R Hall of Fame introduction, 1989.
But they should end it gracefully!

They don't read this forum but they are clearly aware that opinion is not unanimous. So fans decide their fate to some extent. It will interesting to see how they spin it.

Considering the absolute joy given to so many including themselves, the proposition seems selfish.

This thread was started shortly after Charlies passing. Until today's response to a nearly year old post, it had been dormant since last December.
Waddy Wachtell would be the replacement. It has to be someone who Keith has played with. But I do not think they will do that and just retireQuote

No i think Mick and Keith are taking this to the end, until one of them can no longer perform physically, i thought they might call it a day at the end of this tour but they are just too good to stop.
They still have plenty to offer live and with a new album coming out soon ( i hope ) they have every reason to tour at least once more. Ronnie might not be up to the task next year though so the huge question will be are they prepared to bring on another guitarist to help out at this very late stage, only Mick and Keith know what's in their minds, i didn't think they would ever continue without Charlie when he wasn't well etc so you never know with Mick and Keith.
