The Paris Olympia show from the Four Flicks boxset. Great setlist, small venue, fantastic band performance.

Let's Spend the Night Together is one of the best filmed and (still) best looking Stones concert video's, but I don't like the way Mick 'sang'in that periode. It's more like growling. And he looks ridiculous in those tight coloured pants.

Live at the Max is great too by the way. Too bad shows like Atalanta 89 and Miami 94 were shot in poor picture quality (low-res and no widescreen).

For me it is Hampton. Only because I was on the front row and you can hear me yelling throughout!

I know Gimme Shelter isn't a concert film per se, and it's mostly famous for historical reasons, but I'll still put my vote on that one. The Altamont part isn't exactly a walk on a beach, but the music and sound is fantastic both in the MSG and Altamont parts, with the Muscle Shoals stuff as an added bonus. I only wish they'd cut the video with more Stones and less Jagger.

On second place I put L & G. The downside is that the sound mix is mediocre, there are too few audience shots and the picture is too dark, especially in the beginning. Towards the end it gets more energetic and bright.

If you love L & G, I recommend checking out the great live parts in CS Blues and the Happy and All Down The Line outtakes that are available on youtube or elsewhere.

Third place I nominate Texas '78. Great music, great picture, great quality all around.

Has to be Hampton 81.

It’s the one I always go back to.

I like Let's Spend the Night Together, it's filmed beautifully and Mick's very energetic in his football pants

I agree, I think this is the best filmed. It looks amazing and I like the camera work. I also like the sound mix.

Downsides: Sped up tape and truncated/missing songs.

It's kind of a toss-up.

The speed-up always bothered me, too, luckily the Japanese Blu-ray runs at the correct speed.

The worst filmed: Leeds 1982

That's because it wasn't really filmed. It was just screen shots from the in stadium video monitors.

Yeah but they sold it as a bluray concert film

Well, it's much better than nothing. I thought with all the crappy bootlegs over the years that a decent film of the '75 Tour didn't exist. It did. Still hoping for a '76 official video, or dream of dreams, from '73.

Re Leeds 1982: Certainly better than nothing, especially since it's the last show with Ian Stewart.

By the time they got to Leeds, they didn't need to speed the tape up. That's how they actually played. grinning smiley

The Paris Olympia show from the Four Flicks boxset. Great setlist, small venue, fantastic band performance.

Worth the whole thing for that version of Neighbors. 20 years after releasing and touring it, they worked out how to _play_ it.

Very few mentions of The Biggest Bang. Actually I think Salt Lake 2005 is the best release I've seen from the ABB-tour so far.

Do not see with 21th century spirit: TAMI SHOW1964 was a rising sun and a great promise of things to come...something unique of his kind...

Pretty much all of them are enjoyable in one way or other. I like Marquee Club for Mick Taylor's playing but Texa'78 has a great mix and hard to beat the two Ians on keyboards.

The ones you've been to.
I prefer those, even multicam, made/mixed up by fans, with Keith off the scale/noteswinking smiley

Texas Forth Worth 1978: fantastic performance by Mick and the band is on fire. Completely rock and roll and fun. I watch or listen to that show once in a while to remind me what a live band has to do on any given night to be the best band in the world.
Rockandroll,
Mops

Even with all the hype, skip Shine A Light....it sucks. Totally for the cameras and fake groupies and legend in their own mind celebrities, and their performance reflects that.
