Yesterday when i got texted i was at a business event, so it was really difficould to have some kind of emotions. After that i was shocked and devestated. But now i'm mostly gratefull for the great times. Charlie had a respectable age, was a remarkable man and a true legend. We will all miss him.

Oh man, waking up to a world without Charlie Watts. Yesterday was shock, today it's sadness and pain. Miss you, Charlie.

Listening to Sticky Fingers on vinyl tonight and having a toast to Charlie. 'Wild Horses' comes on and I'm reminded of that moment in Gimme Shelter when Charlie has his eyes closed, the camera stays with him for a long time. I saw that film in a cinema, everyone was mesmerised . That moment always kills me, it is so soulful. He slowly opens his eyes and looks kinda embarrassed to see the camera. He was a class act, the calm in the crossfire hurricane... When we left the cinema, everyone reeling from the events of that film, first thing my girlfriend says to me is "Awwww, Charlie is such a sweetie!". Says a lot. Safe travels Charlie, you were the coolest!

Brian Williams on MSNBC:

"If the Beatles changed the World, the Stones taught it to Dance".....love that.

"He was a quiet man who spoke with his sticks." So very true.

Very nice tribute.

I was watching a show on BBC America yesterday afternoon when there was breaking news about Charlie's passing. A man was interviewed (didn't catch the name) who told a rather sweet story about Charlie. It may be well-known, but I never heard it before. Anyway, when Charlie first joined the band he used to buy a walnut cake for both his girlfriend and his mother every Friday night. There was a walnut on top of each cake but he took the walnut off his girlfriend's cake and gave this extra one to his mother. This man was just underscoring the fact that Charlie was a kind and thoughtful person.

He was a class act that's for sure. RIP Charlie...you will be missed.

The Stones could swing so hard because Charlie could swing so hard. So many of my favorite little moments, breaks and turnarounds in stones songs kick off with Charlie taking the band to a new level. I’m gonna miss the sound of his toms, snair, and hi hat. My heart goes out to all who loved the man and his music.

We were deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Rolling Stones drummer #CharlieWatts
He and his wife Shirley (our Patron) have adopted many dogs from us over the years, latest being Suzie.
We extend our condolences to Shirley and family at this very difficult time.

Is that possibly the last known picture of Charlie (apparently taken "just last year" so August 2020 ?) ? He didn't look very well sadly.

I think that it a fitting tribute - right now, nothing else matters, the tour, the future, the album, the re-issues...

Let's just have this time to raise a glass to the Salt of the Band...

My favourite memories include:

- Coventry (2018) everyone singing Happy Birthday to Charlie
- Paris (2017) Charlie laughing as Mick takes drumstick and crashes his cymbals while playing Street Fighting Man
- London Rehearsals (seeing the band up close - the last time I have seen the Stones, and what a special time)

I was thinking about this last night while trying to sleep...hoping they properly address Charlie and don't just carry on with a mention like The Who did with Entwistle and ZZ Top did with Dusty. Maybe Mick or all 3 entering a dark stage and reading a short eulogy like Mick did for Brian at Hyde Park in 69 and starting the show off low-key with an acoustic melody of Salt of the Earth and Shine a Light or something before the standard video start to the main show. Maybe dedicate every show of this tour to Charlie. If they're going to carry on that might be the most fitting way.

Rest in peace Charlie.
You gave the beat to the soundtrack of my life!
The perfect understatement and swing to the greatest band in the world.
I will miss you.
