I see even Bianca has managed to publish condolences before her ex or any of the principles.

I imagine the band is overwhelmed by grief.

Yes.

None of the "principles" nor his family would be expected to issue personal statements at this time.
They also issued a statement and had their site switched to a Charlie memorial.

Speaking of principles.. taking any opportunity to bash the surviving band members isn't the best look.

I felt like I knew him. But I only knew him through the music. I feel a bit bereft, a bit lost…
Driving back from work today I played get off of my cloud from Sam Jose 99 very loud!! What a fantastic legacy Charlie has left. Can’t quite believe the news..
Thoughts, prayers and condolences to his wife and family.
Thoughts also to Mick, Keith and Ronnie… and all of the Rolling Stones family.

Sadly, I have tickets to all the shows except Austin and I am not sure if I want to make the trek now.

I remember Ronnie saying "We are like a fish out of water when we are not touring". Now it's like there is no water.

I give Mick, Keith, and Ron a slide. We all know that they're heartbroken over this. They really don't need to tell anyone that.

From Steve Winwood:

“I met Charlie in 1965 when we toured with the Stones on a package theatre tour. I had the pleasure of playing with him on several occasions since then, and he was very supportive and a thoroughly nice man.
Besides that, he was a brilliant drummer with his own special technique and definitely throughout the years was the defining groove of the Rolling Stones.” - SW

As I sit here listening to MR (Brussels '73), I am heartbroken-shattered over this news. My condolences and deepest sympathies to the Watts' family and Stones family. I saw Charlie for the first time in 1981 and he's the most remarkably coolest, and magnificent drummer in all of rock n'roll in my opinion. Father Time sucks, miss you dearly Charlie! RIP... thank you for all you gave to us!!

I am devastated .....
I loved this guy. he was incredibly humble.
from a musical point of view he was the perfect drummer for the stones.
without him, it will be hard to find the unique groove of stones.
we still have his music, just for that he is eternal and will remain in our hearts.
rip charlie....
