2)Paperback Writer
3)American Pie
4)Sugaree

Love Sugaree, love Paperback Writer, but for that one probably had to be there. It was meant to be funny, but the heavy riddims really made the song. The (New) Breed from Sacramento had a similar song they copied from this concept, Want Ad Reader I believe it was called. That one was dumb but no one ever heard of The Breed anyway. Sugaree, I think is funny as hell, everyone knows a girl they could have sex with but didn't want to be seen in public with, so just don't tell them that you know me, babe.

American Pie, for sure, God I hate that drivel.

Most Springsteen makes me cringe.

There was this radio hit in the 80s but the artist name escapes me at the moment, but the lyrics go:

or something close to that. Whenever I heard that I wanted to punch someone in the face!!

I don't get the hate for "Sugaree" though. Love that song.

I do give credit for the Eagles using "reggae" as their basis for Hotel California. Lyrics are pretty clever and funny too, the first million times you hear them.

As a class, I would like to add anything Steve Miller touched post-Boz Skaggs. The worst cliche ridden lyrics ever. Just impossible to listen to. Didn't stop them from being big hits though.

And yeah impossible as it might be to believe, My Ding A Ling was CB's only #1 I have heard. Just no accounting for taste.
