May not be some new discovery, but the uncredited muffled rendition of whatever it is, is the Stones imo as well.
No coup or rights perhaps needed, perhaps an uncredited boot, of what is yet to be determined that they "nicked". None of the snippets of songs are credited on this episode except two, which seems normal for the series.

Could be. Not as difficult to mimic as Jaggers voice, but the guitar in it sounds more like Keith than the current Keith sounds like Keith.

Agreed it definitely sounds a lot like the Stones. Kinda like 60's style guitars even. Somehow the "Mick" sounds a a bit older than in his 20s though.

Imagine you did the coup and saved the rights for a totally new and unknown Stones song to play it in your first season of your TV show (of which you hope it will be a big success so you can also do a second season). Would you bury the song in the background like that? And don't mention what you got during promotion or in the cast roll?

I guess I’ve never heard of them before. But as someone who’s been a hard-core fan for almost 50 years and have seen them over 50 times it sounds like the Rolling Stones to me.
