Agree 100%. Utterly brilliant from start to finish. That version of Mannish Boy will also put hair on your chest and make you scream randomly like Johnny Winter...

I like the albums Johnny Winter produced for Muddy Waters in the late 70s and early 80s. I know they're not considered Muddy's best work, but they correspond chronologically with the period in which and I first discovered the blues, and even got to see Muddy perform in person a couple of times.

I’m a big fan of Electric Mud. I wish I could remix it though.

A lot of the legendary blues recordings are not in album format. They were just singles. So I guess then it will be a lot of best of singles collections being mentioned here.

I agree w/ basically everything on here, except for Fleetwood Mac, but that's just me....

I'd add, anything by:

The Staple Singers
John Primer
Blind Willie McTell
Joe Louis Walker
Magic Slim & the Teardrops
Keb Mo

....and whatever Rockman says. If I ever got in his Music Room, I'd probably never leave.

and I agree 100% w/ Runaway...listen on vinyl whenever you can.

Very very true. That's why Mick Taylor is my favourite Rolling Stone.

Blue and Lonesome fits in there somewhere for me. Confessin' the Blues, too.

I am hoping the Howlin' Wolf London Sessions makes the grade.

I always loved Muddy Waters Fathers and Sons album and the expanded version is even better.

Probably my most favorite though is the Robert Johnson sets of recordings and the Charlie Patton plus various artists set.

I am so excited!!! Now that I have some more time on my hands and anticipated more money, I’ve been trying to get caught up with what I’ve missed in Stonesland, release wise, and thanks in large part to Irix, I’ve been trying to find the premier editions of missing items. Well, while scouring one of the sites he’d sent me, I just bought the last copy of the 5, 10-inch record box set of Confessin’ the Blues for $64.50 American dollars, shipped!!! What a bargain!!! I’ll never play it and still need the CD version but man what an edition for the collection!!!

Yeah I grabbed that from the store when it was first offered, never played it because got the CD at the same time. Its a great collection of influences on the Stones sound and songs they covered at one time or another. You will love it. I think its one of the best themed collections I have heard.
