The Stones timing was amazing...somehow they squeezed into a window of opportunity this fall. There's no way they'd be playing now.

... I'm just saying I think the Stones would have pulled the plug themselves. It's one thing to organize a tour in the middle of a pandemic, when things look like they're getting under control, but when the world is going back into lock down and the trendline is straight up you don't plan a tour of the americas.

Yep. In a combination of patient, careful yet nervey planning, discipline on the road, and pure luck, they fit the postponed U.S. leg right into the only brief window in which they had any realistic chance of getting in 13 stadium shows + 1 uninterrupted during 2021.

Cheers to them!

All that and without Charlie for the first time. Truly professional.

So don't you panic,
Don't you panic give it one more try
Don't you panic..don't you panic... give it one more try

Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
Keep on trying
You've got to keep trying

Read some rumblings about the Nick Mason tour that's to start next month, and evidently a band member recently had coronavirus which sidetracked the rehearsals.
Not sure of any more details, or the fate of the tour itself, but we'll find out soon enough I suppose.

Hard to sell way over priced drinks to empty seats. When Roger Waters did the Wall at our local arena some wise ass in the concession stand put up a sign that said "no pudding!" haha. A little OT but relevant too.

Went to The Cavern Pub, Raynes Park, SW London on Boxing Day afternoon and was Steve Simpson (Joe Brown, Ronnie Lane) with a couple of pals on drums and bass guitar, and really enjoyed it.

Took lateral flow test following day and negative. thumbs up

The Cavern had a cancellation of another gig for tomorrow (Wednesday) as a band member tested positive.
Late replacement are Steve Simpson again, with differant members including Peter Bruntnell who I'm also going to see here in Epsom on Thursday.
He's doing a solo gig I think, at Queen Adelaide pub, just down the road from me.
Every day while gigging I do a lateral flow test, just to be on the safe side, and know a few more music fans who do the same.

Better to be safe than sorry. smileys with beer

Out of concern for the safety and well-being of our fans, the employees at the Greensboro Coliseum, our crew, and the band, we have decided to postpone this year's New Year's Eve show. It is also important that we not add to the burden that the already-overwhelmed hospitals and healthcare workers are facing in North Carolina. We are working on details for a rescheduled show and hope to have more info for you in the coming weeks. We thank you for your patience and understanding and sincerely look forward to seeing you in 2022.

According to people on Backstreets.com with inside info, Springsteen has cancelled his 2022 tour plans, at least for now, meaning he has let go of the holds he had on venues. Europe was fully booked and was to have been announced on November 29, but was postponed due to Omicron being announced days before then. Europe was to have run from late April to July and US dates after that. These were all stadium and outdoor shows.

This is very disappointing I was really looking forward to seeing Springsteen this summer.Hopefully he can get back on the road sometime this year.
