Ultimately, I think the only way the Stones cancel anything is if local governments impose lockdowns/restrictions/capacity limits, or if someone with fairly close proximity to the band tests positive for Covid.

Too much money is at stake and has already switched hands between multiple parties. All signs point to this fall being the only opportunity to fulfill the US tour, so another postponement is very unlikely. I doubt the Stones care about how they look to the public in regards to carrying out this tour; I don't think they care if it makes them look greedy, nor do I think they care to look heroic for pulling the plug because of the pandemic.

Of course, this is all speculation on my part; I could be wrong about everything I just said. I feel 50/50 on the tour happening (though I think the Kraft show is 100% happening). But if anything gets cancelled, I believe it will be for reasons completely out of their hands - if the band has a choice in the matter, the show will most likely go on.

Kid Rock Cancels Shows, Reveals “Half The Band Has F**king Covid”

Kid Rock canceled his weekend concerts at Billy Bob’s in Texas due to half his band having Covid.

The singer announced the news on Thursday (Aug. 26) via his social media, revealing that despite being vaccinated, half of his band has Covid but he does not.

“Billy Bob’s Shows This Weekend… I am pissed,” Kid Rock said in a social media post. ”Over half the band has f**king covid (not me), and before u shit for brains bloggers and media trolls run your mouths, many of them, like me, have been vaccinated. I was gonna come and rock the house anyway, play acoustic, DJ or even just Juggle…. Deez Nutz!! – or at least try to entertain u good folks. But seriously, shit is way out of my hands on this one. I am beyond upset and you real ones know I would never cancel if I absolutely didn’t have too. For this, I am sorry.”

Kid Rock played Sturgis, which has turned into a superspreader event. He bragged about the packed, maskless crowd and said the media couldn't stop him!

Tonight's #KISS show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA is unfortunately postponed due to Paul Stanley testing positive for COVID. More information about show dates will be made available ASAP. Everyone on the entire tour, both band and crew, are fully vaccinated.

They also had to postpone this weekends shows in Raleigh and Atlanta.

I didn't even know there was a "new Yardbirds". The last time I went to see a "new Yardbirds" it turned out to be Led Zeppelin.

Concerts and Covid: Can the show go on?

By Eric Berger, Kaiser Health News
August 29, 2021

After more than a year without live music, promoters, bands and fans are eager to keep the concerts going,
but uncertainty remains over whether the vaccine or negative-test requirements actually make large concerts safe even if held outdoors.
"Absolutely not," said Dr. Tina Tan, a specialist in pediatric infectious diseases at Northwestern University. "There is just too much covid that is circulating everywhere in the U.S."'

--------------------------------------------------------------

Most of us want to see live music as if it were the good old days, but sadly times have changed, and you have to wonder is it worth the risk to see your favorite band?
I've seen several small outdoor local shows recently, as well as some Mariachi bands while at out favorite Mexican restaurant, but the current surge of Delta continues to escalate which gives me pause.

Back on topic, I just heard Los Lobos pulled out as opening act for Steve Earle at the Ryman Theater (Earle will still perform) - not sure of the reason, but hoping none of them came down with coronavirus.

This header sums up how I feel we get back to concerts and everything else quickly.

"BREAKING: Germany is planning to ban the unvaccinated from nearly everywhere"

Banning the unvaxxed from everything is the right path.
Make it so damn difficult to do anything- fly, entertainment, hotels, restaurants et al.

The places, entertainers, artists already doing that are leading the way imo.

We're over 70% of adults vaxxed. The 30% are the reason for the spread and the hospitals filling up again (90+% of hospital beds filled are unvaxxed).

Where is the line before we all get back to a somewhat normal life?
Bravo to the bands still touring and planning to tour with safety measures in place. Heard about "personal responsibility" from the right for decades.
Time for them to really embrace that.

He waited to return to the stage until he was COVID-19 negative.

When he says he refuses to cancel, he means he is laboring through the residual effects of COVID-19.

Whether that is smart or not, is an entirely different matter.

While Paul Stanley has recovered, Gene Simmons now has COVID and they cancelled/postponed another four shows. I believe 7 shows total have been postponed so far. They restarted the tour on 8/18.

It seems all of these current KISS shows are outdoor amphitheatres. Might be difficult to reschedule some shows if it gets into late October/November. I see their Australia tour has now been rescheduled for Spring 2022.

Elton John (CONCERT POSTPONED)

Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Helsinki will be re-scheduled for 2023. New dates are being negotiated and we will inform ticket buyers once confirmed. We ask all customers to keep already purchased tickets for the time being. Tickets will be valid for the new dates.

”Hello again everyone,
As we begin to exit this terrible global pandemic, we are all faced with regulations and restrictions that we must adhere to.
As such it has been necessary to once again review my Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour and make some difficult decisions.
I hope you can appreciate that these decisions are not ones we have taken lightly, but with due consideration for the situation in each country, taking into account government guidance and the safety of our fans and everyone involved with this amazing show.
This unfortunately means we have had to reschedule my dates in Helsinki at the Hartwall Arena on the 21 and 22 September 2021. The new dates will now take place in 2023 and will be confirmed soon.
We cannot wait to finally see you all again and thank you for all your love and support.
Until we see you in Helsinki, please stay safe and healthy.
Elton John”

The Artist and Live Nation Finland apologizes for any inconvenience.

1. KISS have had to postpone so many outdoor shows at this point that they are going to have to wait until next summer to reschedule them. They’ve already got US dates booked through mid October, and at that point it’s hard to do outdoor shows in the cities they have postponed.

2. No way in hell Any concerts will be happening in Australia in 2022. They are just now where the US was in March 2020. 2 weeks to flatten the curve, etc. I know they want to hold on to the fans money as long as possible, but touring acts might as well cross Australia and NZ off the map for the next several years at least.

My brother and a friend of ours have tickets for the Gorge in Washington in September. The border with the US is still closed so he thought he would have to sell. I said there's still a ton of tickets available on ticketmaster. Now with these current postponements, perhaps the Gorge show will be postponed til next year if/when the border reopens.
Ironically the US issued a warning to Americans wanting to travel to Canada because of our covid situation! US is a hell of a lot worse than we are. Even though our border has been opened a few weeks now to American tourists who show they are fully vaccinated, I don't see many US license plates on the highways, at least not in BC. Ontario/Quebec might be different.

Kiss in Dayton at the Nutter Center is an arena gig, could be tacked onto the itinerary any time, but I'm guessin' 2022 to go along with the other shows, which are in sheds.

Bummed about the postponement, as I had grabbed a seat when Diamond David Lee Roth was gonna open in 2020, though he is not out this year...
