I saw a show in Anaheim in my email.

Now I did see JEFFERSON SCABSHIP in Burbank a few weeks ago opening for TWO OYSTER CULT, who have since added We Built This City and Sara to the setlist which I thought was pandering to the crowd who has no idea who is or was in the band but they announced Donny Baldwin, beating those drums like Micky Thomas's face:

Anything Mickey Thomas does is so NOT Starship it's funny.

If you want something good from this sorta camp, get Jack and Jorma Before We Were Them (I think its called) from the Owsley Foundation. Totally great pre-Hot Tuna performance and stellar recording. That was the heart and soul of the Airplane along with Marty Balin.

I thought about going to a Starship concert in 1985 just to see Grace Slick sing White Rabbit, but then I saw a live clip on tv and quickly changed my mind.

Jefferson Airplane were mighty amazing and important band. Hot Tuna with Jorma and Jack on Guitar and Bass with Papa John Creach were absolutely amazing. I Saw them live at Town Hall in NYC. Amazing.
Love Grace. Definitely an icon of strength.
Even like her these days as an artist and big ol grandma Etc. Mickey Thomas s great voice too.
It's just that it turned so Stoopid

"Fooled around and fell in love" is a great tune with or without Elvin Bishop. It's my favorite tune by Mickey Thomas.

Sure, I'd go. I like "Jane", "Rock Music", "Be My Lady", "Winds Of Change" and several others.

I really liked Marty Balin on "Miracles" (almost X-rated lyrics) and "Runaway". And he got knocked cold at Altamont!

I agree those Marty songs in Starship were wonderful. I think it was a really great idea to keep it going. Mickey obviously madly talented.
But, like it's kinda shabby of me to poke fun at them but it's sort of, well.. I'd say like the B room at a Playboy club dining room...
