If theses were normal times I would be convinced they must have something else up their slippery sleeves this coming week.
They aren't, and it's unlikely they do, but kicking off the tour on Sunday as opposed to Saturday still has me scratching my head.

Six days is a relatively long time between the private show and the opener.
The dome doesn't appear to have anything booked that would have conflicted with a Sat night opener, so wondering if the Stones have something else..

They're gonna need some time for the dress rehearsal (that's usually a couple of days before opening night, right?) That in itself of course doesn't explain why they booked the concert for a Sunday instead of a Saturday.

So it all starts tonight with Robert Kraft's private party. I am hearing that there will be something a little different in the show that''s never been done before and will probably never happen again.

Hmmm.
Maybe cell phones locked in a bag ala Jack White.
Imagine they don't want any footage of this first concert without Charlie leaked.

Hard to make out what's written on it, but at least you can see: Let's Spend The Night Together, Under My Thumb, Midnight Rambler, Miss You, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, and maybe a few others.

CGA = YCAGWYW (BV used to write it so)

They just keep playing Like A Rolling Stone for some reason, don't they?
And it would be THE PERFECT song to use as a vehicle for them and to do something on stage with regards to CHARLIE no longer with them in body but in SPIRIT…

Any reports out there from last night ?

I'm starting to wonder if it's the Stones amazing security and the band's secrecy, or has the media lost interest grinning smiley

I just find it strange we haven't seen one picture of Keith in ages, and Ronnie usually puts something out there on Twatter now and again.

We did however see a picture of Micks nose the other day in a car.

There were video clips of Mick and Ronnie leaving rehearsals on Facebook.

I will post about the rehearsals as soon as I get settled in at my "home" in St Louis. Travel from Boston took all day.

The band and all those who work at red sky films and stones employees had to be basically be masked at all TIMES! according to my friend who works there. Also explains why they weren't seen around Boston. They couldn't afford covid issues with upcoming tour.. Friend had his guitar signed by the Big 3! or remaining 3.

What happens in rehearsals ?
Posted by: Kingbeebuzz ()
Date: September 23, 2021 17:09

If you have played "Satisfaction", "Brown Sugar", etc. 2 million times since you wrote them..........why do you need 2 weeks of rehearsal every time you tour ??

The Stones never rehearsed for so long earlier in their career and back then they had more varied set lists. Some of the songs even have very few chords in them.

If the set list is say, 18 songs....then what do they do in rehearsals ? Do they play the complete set list twice a day for 10 days ???

They may play through a variety of old songs in rehearsals ........ but they rarely play them on tour, so that just seems to be for their own pleasure.

What do they actually rehearse ??

what happens in rehearsals stays in rehearsals

Re: What happens in rehearsals ?

It's not only about knowing how to play the chords and parts, but they also rehearse to "meld" together as a band and sound tighter and more confident. Just like they improve after playing a few shows, they go through the same process in rehearsals when everyone gets more comfortable and tuned in playing with each other again.

Uhm well...

If you ever played sports you would know that it takes hours and practise to get in form. Same as an band. It is not a part time hobby what they do you know.

Also they kinda have a new drummer. Which is a big thing.

Well, they hang around, play some tunes, try a different guitar or two regarding its sound on a tune, razz the new kid on the block a bit and give him a hard time to break him in and get him to feel part of the gang, sing all of them golden oldies they grew up listening to, order in pizza, sip a brew or two or a glass of wine, do some riffing/jamming on their own old songs, crack a few jokes, pull out their phones to show the latest pictures of the grand kids, b*tch about things like life-health-love-getting old, eat those cheeseburgers and fries not on their approved foods list, play their set list songs for the 9 millionth time, call it a day and be sure to be tucked snug into bed by 10 p.m.

I read they've rehearsed between 80 and 90 songs for the tour

Cool that Steve is using a Gretch drum kit. I think he usually plays a Yamaha kit.

The Stones are gonna Roll, it's what they do.

The three faces you can see look everything but ready for touring... And as many of us expected, they're not.

I'm so happy and thankful for 59 years - that's way way more than I'd ever expected. But 'It's All Over Now'. For me and forever.

RIP Charlie - 'Miss You'! I'm so sad, sad, sad. I got better in the last days, but infos and snippets from the awkward billionaire-gig threw me back. Couldn't stand not a second of them, optically nor acoustically.

God bless Mick, Keith and Ronnie - but he now should better keep them from the way they just started...
