The only big name in the Olympus of their heroes that they have not covered yet, I think, is Elvis! Would love to hear Keith do his Scotty Moore thing.

Keith did a cover of Fat's Domino "I'm Ready" at some benefit concert once. It sounded pretty great would be a good cover.

You Gotta Serve Somebody (so long as they quicken the tempo, like Bob did in the mid eighties when it was quite a rave-up)

Papa was a Rolling Stone, in a medley with Out of Control

Knock on Wood

Raise your Hand

I Can't Help Myself

I reckon this would be a good one if they had Jeff Beck as a guest playing the Cliff Gallup solos.

Lotta Lovin' would be another good Gene Vincent one.

I believe they did it twice, in Lexington and in Memphis, both 1978.

I'd like for them to re-introduce some of their mid-60's covers: Mona (I Need You Baby), Down the Road Apiece, etc. She Said Yeah would be a blast.

so here is my input again

for mick

hot nuts - little richard

sunspot baby - bob seger

wild child - the doors

for keith

harvest moon - neil young (i know i said this one twice but think he would do a great version of this)

i want to walk you home - fats domino

she still comes around - jerry lee lewis

(really who dosen't want hear keith do that one onstage)

Has anyone suggested Mickey's Monkey by the Miracles?

Better take:

They would probably massacre it though.

Somebody's Watching You is a Sly Stone song (performed by Little Sister) that is more relevant now than it was 50 years ago.

Do it as a medley that seques into "Fingerprint File" (another song even more relevant now, if you turn those "papers" that are six feet high into "files.")

And if I were bold enough to advise the Stones, I'd suggest changing the repeated "It gets me down" line on FF to "It's all around", making the song even more paranoid--and less of a defeated bummer.

Build up to the "It gets me DOWN!" line and use it only once at the moment where it peaks just before the instrumental break. More impact that way.

That's would I would advise the Stones. If I were so bold.

James Brown songs absolutely... For example "I feeld good".

Jagger would already be a huge fan himself and he would know how to move.

Also some Prince stuff could be nice.

Higway 61 Bob Dylan

No thank you. Their version of Like A Rolling Stones was so lame, they best steer clear of Dylan material. The cobbled together Watching the River Flow a few years back (with Bill returning on bass) was better, but unnecessary. They are usually one of the very best cover bands of all time, but Dylan songs elude them.

I have to agree. To me, its because Dylan's voice is so distinctive and a big part of those songs - that hearing them cover it just doesn't seem to work. You hear the song and then want to hear Dylan's voice! ... stay away from Dylan covers!!

I'd like them to "cover" themselves and play "Out of Time" LOL

Other than that - they have really killed it with Otis Redding covers and they should choose another.

Aren't they doing Satisfaction at every show already? I mean, how much Otis do we really need?

They played the former (soul version) in Chicago in 2002.
