Jaguar and Thunderbird by Chuck Berry via Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

Oops, just saw the "no Chuck". But, still...

Faces covers would be a natural.

Eddie Cochran's Nervous Breakdown. But I would be happy with Slow Death too.

Good call on Eddie Cochran. Somethin’ Else would also be good. I have always thought they should do a rockabilly/early rock album. The Stones track I nominate is Out of Time

Similar to what they did in Houston in '98 with "Bob Wills Is Still The King", another one-off and nod to Merle Haggard with "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down" in Nashville. The Stones can do country very well when they want cool smiley

Elvis Costello does a great cover of this song as well.

Any Merle, George Jones, Hank or Waylon song would do. I love it when they do country, that tongue-in-cheek and just pure perfection I could listen to all night.

Speaking of Waylon, cover his "Are You Sure Hank Did It This Way" leading into or following the Stones cover of "Just My Imagination". The groove on both is very similar. Regarding Merle, covering his version of "Heaven Was A Drink of Wine" would be a great country weeper.

No thank you. Their version of Like A Rolling Stones was so lame, they best steer clear of Dylan material. The cobbled together Watching the River Flow a few years back (with Bill returning on bass) was better, but unnecessary. They are usually one of the very best cover bands of all time, but Dylan songs elude them.

I think Baltimore by Nina Simone would be done very interestingly and with much style by the Stones. They're great at reggae grooves and building up a daunting atmosphere and it suits an age-related slower playing style.
In the same vein groove-wise but with a very different vibe is I Get Wild / Wild Gravity by Talking Heads. Being a massive fan of Feel On Baby I guess they would do this fantastic song justice.

Doesn't say much for the 90s. There's only two albums of new material.
