Mick Taylor playing acoustic and fingerpicking the notes as he changes chords from G to C to G and D kind of like when he played acoustic guitar on JJF for the 50th reunion tour very strange

I never got why bands needed to mime to a track vs playing live?

Didn’t they remove Ry Cooders mandolin from the mix.Maybe so they would not have to pay him?

They also played Gimmie Shelter and Honky Tonk Woman on the same show.

Live vocals over pre-recorded tracks...All Ed Sullivan Stones performances are like this starting in 66 with the Aftermath performances..

Cheap to produce, no need to mic anything, no soundcheck... Happens a lot in TV shows, even if the bands want to play live

Not only that most tv studios did not have a way to capture live sound well enough for a decent broadcast. Thats why they generally just did a voiceover of a pre recorded track.

I hear the mandolin. Did Mick Taylor play slide on the studio version? I know he's not listed on the Let It Bleed credits, but it sounds like his slide playing. And he did play slide on the live versions.

I don’t hear the mandolin till the end where it sounds like it’s bleeding through the vocals.All I hear is Keith’s slide and acoustic.And they definitely removed Ry Cooders mandolin solo.Why?And didn’t Keith later play slide on Ventilator Blues and Till the Next Goodbye during the Taylor era.
