Same tough talk came from the Sooner faithful last year. Not a chance, Duane....not a chance.

The perfect equilibrium. The post was made, people commented one way or another on it, then it was removed. It's probably a good thing that some threads disappear. Then again, perhaps 'Beaver' is deserving of a place in the hallowed historical vaults of IORRean cyber-space.

People ONLY interested in the Stones-affairs on IORR, dont follow these posts, do they? It should be allowed for the ladies & gentlemen (with or without beavers) to talk about something else from time to time. If one call this board a sort of Stones-school, it should be allowed to talk about other stuff in-between classes.

I started an American sports thread!
Pass the emeticum!

Good night, some of us live in the First World and make a living and therefore need some sleep!

POST SCRIPTUM FOR GAZZA :

The answer to the riddle lies in Maths. I haven't seen them all yet, therefore I can't say with 100% certainty whether all girls have a beaver or not.
Can you?

Hell, that's why I come here. I'm a 44 year old professional man with 2 kids, a wife, and a mortgage. I need some infantile humor and Stones talk. Lighten up! Have a drink! Whatever!

Re: Dear Bjornulf: Regarding Censorship.....

DaveG. No I didn't catch Seattle. It's about 3,000 miles (light years) too far to the west. I couldn't even catch the Moncton show and that was 80 miles away - spent the night in the hospital instead.

I think bv was right to do so. The thread annoyed me as well. I mean, there's tons of places where you can read/write about that. Maybe if that was not the case the thread should have been kept alive.
Posts about the bassist are pretty bad as well. But you can't go everywhere bashing a bassist, now can you?

Yes, but I'm not gonna sign up to a site designed for discussing beavers. What would people think?

If you devote yourself to deleting and altering material that is considered offensive, morally harmful or
politically dangerous it's a sign of the fact that your too old to rock'n'roll and need to get a proper life.
Best wishes.

@Rank outsider
bv should speak for himself but I highly doubt that he finds "beavers", "dicks", "@#$%&" and so on offensive. It's just annoying. Why the hell should we speak about
"shaved beavers"? What's the added value. Suppose I'm sitting in a bar with somebody and that somebody starts a conversation about "shaved beavers". That's like a bunch of physics students. It's just retarded.

Re: Dear Bjornulf: Regarding Censorship.....

Whales anatomically lack a beaver and by nature tend towards slight beaver-envy, on top of that they are in severe danger of extinction, so I'll let you off.....

If "censorship" would erase any post without an added value, then this website would be reduced to roughly 1% of its actual contents!

I personally don't see any added value in posting the umpteenth thread about "my favourite setlist", and last time I checked, the ghastly , highly academically challenging and articulate "hair implants" and "I'm drunk" threads were still going strong on something like page number 20. Why????? Beats me, but not because they add value, that's for sure ! I simply ignore them and don't yearn for their removal.

There is something intrinsically wrong with the removal of the beaver thread when it after all has NOT been posted on the "Mozart's Requiem Fansite",and we could end up with a very interesting philosophical discussion about censorship here, sadly my next client is waiting, and I really haven't got the time today.....

The way I see this place, we are all more or less anonymous strangers, spread out all over the World and its many timezones, virtually "meeting" in cyberspace because we love the Stones.
We are free to engage in a conversation together, or to just skip a thread we aren't really thrilled by, or to just passively read on. I often do just watch, I sometimes disappear for months, I'm sure many others do the same.To control these conversations (if they remain harmless, and here comes the first "grey zone"), or to erase threads because of a perceived moral slight would be ok if this was the website dedicated to the singing nun who got famous with "Dominique, nique, nique..." On a thread dedicated to the pioneers of dirty lyrics?
Somehow not!

And now I better do what I'm being paid for!

Why the hell should we speak about "rolling stones"? What's the added value. Suppose I'm sitting in a bar with somebody and that somebody starts a conversation about "rolling stones". That's like a bunch of geology students. It's just retarded.

Why the hell should we talk about anything? I don't get what you want to say.

Hey I'm one of the beaver posters. I really have no standards, and apologize if I offended anyone. I mostly agree with Jostorm's points, but the bottom line is that it's Bjornulf's board, he's the editor, he makes the rules. So be it.

Yes - it's Bjornulf's board, he's the editor, he makes the rules. So be it.

I was the first to respond on the thread
and I did so because it was totally off topic
and not even mentioned in the headline. Otherwise I would have skipped it.
Thats why it was anoying and it wasn't very funny in the beginning.
I guess the're lots of other boards where you discuss topics like that.

I apologise to nobody and especially Miss Johanna because she has not responded to my email from about 6 months ago!
:0)

It's OK my antipodean friend - if I was lower on the food chain (which my wife regularly alludes to me being so) - I'd hope to be on your operating table if the need ever arose.

Mail me when you get a sec....

Anyways....continuing with my dribble...

I did not have the mixed privelidge and/or good fortune to view the wood gnawing mammals thread, so I can offer no comment as to it's worthiness or worthlessness to this forum.

But.

Well just that - but!

Let's start a thread on them instead perhaps?

Butts that is.

Not that I'm into them - figuratively or literally.
Although I admit to hearing the mention of the word voiced in my general direction on an hourly basis.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

To paraphrase a famous 1950s American television show: "bv, don't you think you were a little hard on the Beaver?"

Leave it to beaver to start a controversey on this board. I have a few other jokes involving the name of the character Beaver Cleaver, but I'm afraid if I post them this thread will be deleted!
