RW: Breathe on Me = new to me

I just heard this track for the first time last night. Wow!

Casual evening, alone in a Cretan mountain village.

What a beautiful ragged melody.

What do you think of this gem?

I agree, though both are excellent.

There are a number of scorchers on the album.

On It’sUnholy, Wood and Mick Taylor play really well together.Too bad Taylor wasn’t allowed back in the band when Wyman quit. They really sound good together. And they could alternated on bass. But Jagger had this silly notion of what the band should be.

Jagger had WHAT exactly? A "silly notion" that replacing Wyman with Taylor was not a good idea? Didn't allow Taylor back when Wyman left?

Did Taylor ever ask to rejoin when Bill left? Not that I'm aware of!

Taylor would have accepted an invitation to rejoin in 1993.But Jagger has this notion the band needs to structured that way.He couldn’t have Taylor and Wood alternating between bass and guitar on stage although McCartney did it himself all the time

Taylor and Wood alternating between bass and guitar on stage may have been our wettest dream, but it was never even discussed afaik, plus Taylor never even suggested such a move. As such, it is just wishful thinking. Don't know what Jagger has to do with it.

I've always maintained that Now Look is Wood's best album and probably the most organic blend of American R&B and British guitar raunch ever, due to the participation of Mr. Bobby Womack.

Ronnie isn't just striking a pose--this is record about emotion and relationships and serious adult stuff...like...women.

Put on some headphones and listen to Womack's moans buried in the mix on "I Can Say She's Alright."

It's a much more understated record than Ronnie's first album, and it really runs so much deeper. From the opening of "I Got Lost When I Found You" to the final fade of "I've Got A Feeling," Woody, (with the assist of Bobby and Ian McLagan) is just laying it all out there.

This album could be called "Exile on Soul St."

Listening to "Breathe On Me" from this album while driving through the Arizona desert one night many years ago is a soundtrack/driving experience that remains vivid even to this day.

Great song, I feel like Ronnie doesn't get enough credit for his first few albums.

My favourite Ronnie solo record, Womack's influence really shines through.

It has some fantastic live versions, with horns.

Love it and got the single - b-side to I Can Feel The Fire - when it came out. It's quite a complex song and that amazing reverb on the two guitar intro is just sublime. My favourite ever Ronnie song.

Thanks to Liddas for highlighting the other version.

A super song by Ronnie; the music, the words and the musical arrangements just great. I am glad he kept that song for him. Although Ronnie is thought to be a fun guy essentially , he can get serious/deep and he can still deliver.
Rockandroll,
