Federer compared to Stones

From an ESPN article on today’s win

“With Federer, you know you're going to be put through a display of aesthetically pleasing tennis. You've seen it before, but it's just as thrilling -- like watching the Rolling Stones on one of their biannual farewell tours as they play out their full repertoire with energetic finesse.”

Roger moves better than Mick……………

Biannual? Yes, I guess the Stones need to do this to play their full repertoire - one half of it here, one half of it there. This way the Stones full repertoire is covered during that year. So, which half of their repertoire do you choose if you can't afford to do both? Regarding aesthetically pleasing tennis, why not Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Steffi Graf or Martina Navratilova? Of course, for real smooth moves, why not Billie Jean King versus Bobby Riggs in the tennis Battle of The Sexes back in the day? Only one person moves like Jagger and we all know who that is.

I would say the Rolling Stones are more like Björn Borg on the senior tour...

He's 40 years old next month, a phenomenon, freak of nature, just like Mick, incredible people that make us realise you are never too old.

I think Federer's natural playing style is one reason he can still be a top player. Most players tend to accumulate injuries through the years.

How many Rolling Stones concerts did you go to, Natlanta?
Mick always ends with see you next time or see you again.
"Goodbye" is not part of Mick's vocabulary ...

At his age (80) and musical skills, I would like to compare John McLaughlin to Roger Federer.

A fine blues in E.

Thanks for that on July 4. Four white British boys paying homage to an (African-)American genius.

I thought this was going to have something to do with a blood swap at a Swiss clinic.

That would be a nice one, but ... against Norrie the other day Federer's backhand was not good for some time, let's say it was Between a Rock and a Hard place

Yep. And you hear them mumble "trouble is coming, I can read it like the Back of my Hand"

That's one very dumb quote! For one thing, the Stones never have & never will announce " a farewell tour" and I see no similarities between Mick & Roger Federer....none! I do enjoy watching Roger play, however....but not nearly as much as I love watching Mick " MOVE LIKE JAGGER!"
