Great video, surprised no one mentioned copying the Beatles with the sitar! Man, it would have been awesome to be a teenager back then. Just look at all the Stones singles in that 2 year window: Last Time, Satisfaction, 19th Nervous, PIB, Get Off Of My Cloud, As Tears Go By, Under My Thumb, Have You Seen Your Mother, Let's Spend The Night/Ruby Tuesday.
Not to mention all the other British Invasion bands, Motown, etc.

Well as a 15 year old at the time, my verdict was the hits continue and Paint It Black has one of the most inspired vocals by Jagger maybe ever. Although it was following on a series of bang on hits but it was strength upon strength at that point.
Or, as they said on Bandstand, its clever, its got a good beat, you can dance to it, I like it!

"It's not as good as 'Satisfaction.'" The youth of 1966, already nostalgic for the halcyon days of 1965. "Satisfaction" was the show closer at the Stones live gigs in '66. It was a Warhorse, even then.
