Mick after tonight:

I went to see England, but England lost
It wasn't much fun standin' in the rain
And we all yelled loud and we all complained
Wasn't much of a game
I got soaked
Didn't wanna come anyway

If England are going to win tonight they are going to have to play the cleanest game of football, the Italian team will try to sway the referee a foul has been committed at every turn. They are brilliant actors, it's cheating really and they are masters of it.

As for the game of football itself England should deliver if they keep their heads, best team in the tournament so far.

Those lyrics didn't age well did they.spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

About time Mick left the music and lyrics to Keith, Mick always trying to cash in on the occasion, Ghost Town, Easy Sleazy, it's all a bit desperate, attention seeking, Mick should take some of his own advice, less Doom And Gloom when it comes to the England football team

England deserved to get into the final, but when it comes to cheating there
might be a draw after 120 minutes tonight...
Both teams played a very good tournament so far, probably the luckier wins the match.
I guess Italy will win after extra time by penalties...

Watched the Copa America Brazil v Argentina game starting at 1am UK time with Argentina winning 1-0.
Good game and lots of not so great acting now and then on both sides.
Really hope we don't get too much of that in tonight's game.

Only 6 hours to go till England v Italy kick off, and I'm sure the whole country is really looking forward to it.
I think it will be 2 - 1 to England, but may go into extra time, but really hope it doesn't go to penalties.

Come on England. thumbs upsmileys with beerthumbs up

England, due to the benefit of home turf, will of course be beforehand favorites. I think they will stand a 60/40 chance of winning it. England has a strong overall defense foremost.
They are also very good on set pieces including corners. Not exactly "jogo bonito" but very effective. And Italy has to look out for Sterling. He's the one creating the chances due to his mobility.

After 33 games unbeaten I'd say Italy are the favourites, plus they are used to finals, but yeah playing at home definitely helps, but also the expectations of a home crowd can apply even more pressure.

MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN .

Great goal. England seems to play with a 3-5-2 system which left Shaw (I think his name was) unmarked against 4 Italian defenders. A bit passive goaltending. The goalie did nothing.
Shaw actually looks quite a bit overweight which is kind of a unique feature for a top athlete.

Luke Shaw (leftback Man United) is certainly not overweight. Like Lukaku and Ronaldo he is pushing weights like hockey players, it is all muscles.

Referee is certainly mixing it. Good call not to go for Sterling's patent dive. Then he blows off the game for no reason at all in the 59th minute when Italy had a clear goal chance.
Mixed emotions? 1-1 now. Southgate must change the game pattern. England must lift up their game. A good game now.

The Italians are the smarter players imo.

You only have to listen to Harry Kane open his mouth to realise no English player will be appearing on mastermind anytime soon.

Kane and Stirling play for England and when it comes to staying upright, they are compromised.
Get a grip.

Grealish a very creative player. I don't understand why he's not in the starting line. This can go either way now.

BV: You're right. It must be impossible also to be a wing back, running up and down the line, and adding weight at the same time. His double shirts may fool the eye also.

I hate the penalty shoot out has to decide a huge match like this.

A replay at the same venue 5-7 days later would be a much better option in my opinion. thumbs up
