Shame.

VW sponsored the Voodoo Lounge tour in Europe and part of the deal was a Rolling Stones VW golf special edition. The Stones even played at Wolfburg in front of VW's factory/headquaters.

So if ou talk about shame, you're in fact talking about the Stones themselves

That special model VW Golf must have been one of the cheapest special models ever built. A couple of stickers and a free CD...

I had one of these cars. Drove it for a month and had to return it because of a complicated over heating problem. At least I got to drive it to Berlin for the Licks Tour. Mission accomplished smiling smiley

By the way if anyone is interested the stickers are always on sale on German eBay.

There were a lot of stuff with VW/Stones like special shirts, banners, pencils etc.

I think they had a Genesis edition too.

I avoid having anything Stones-related on display on my car in case there are non-Stones hooligans around. Don't want any hooligans running their key across the side of my car, because they don't like The Rolling Stones, for some unknown reason.

And yes, that car do look like a disaster!

I have (had) the logo on the back of both (late) and current VW Passat (15 and current 10 years) Not ever did anyone damage it! Well, I do live in the Netherlands! No one would dare to do harm to a Stones fan or his/her car. .... lethal grinning smiley

It is up on £150 now. Not bad for a scrap car. The interior looks pretty good, the front seats seems to be in good condition. I guess the buyer is looking for spare parts.

Yes, but I would not say so, people might misunderstand. Mind you, I love The Beatles too!

I think the Beatles more or less confessed to this hooliganism with their song, "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?".

It's clearly a musical treatise on automobile crime.

I can't believe that someone expects to get 3995 pounds for this thing!

VW Listing

The book that comes with it is probably worth more than the car.

I see now that the seats have a different upholstery than a standard Golf. With a "Rolling Stones" imprint. As apart from the first car this one seems to be in good condition with a very low mileage. A standard Golf, with stickers or not, is nothing for collectors though. Too many made of them. I wouldn't pay anything near £4,000 for it. Maybe £400 though if it's drivable and well maintained mechanically.

The UK promotional-only cassette in folder (with T-shirt) is very collectable, nowadays...

In germany, you still occasionally see some of these around. I always thought it to be a weak sponsorship deal as they apparently weren't allowed to use the tongue but had to settle with the weird voodoo mannequin. The Babylon lion would also have served them better.

The only item of interest as a memorability would be the gear handle with the Voodoo doll om it, imo.

I think they were sold as toy cars also. Maybe more practical for the collector?

And a lot of other items - to buy and for promotion and decoration at the VW stores. Got some pencils.

I love the Volkswagen Memorabilia. Since '95 I've tried to find everything. One thing I won't get is the neck tie, forgot the number made but crazy rare. Finally I got ceramic coffee mugs from someone in Holland. Different countries had different things. Think I have all the toy cars. Six different ones and another one inside a plastic box with Pink Floyd and Genesis cars.

MAF, I have a flag. It’s a little larger than a standard door. But I’m pretty sure they came in other sizes as well.
