Semi b-stage means front stage. They simply moved the band and Charlie up front to the very little stage extention that Mick is using up there. It was hot up there. Then on You Can't Always Get What You Want Mick walked on what is a 3 feet wide barrier separating the front pool pit from the rest. Very narrow. No security really as anybody could grab his legs. having guys next to him to secure of course but still. Then Ronnie did the same doing his solo. The Edge from U2 was watching the entire show from start to finish next to me and he was impressed I can tell. Too many celebrities to mention. All over. Well it was Hollywood and this was a show to remember. Very special. How often do you get "Wild Horses" and "Dead Flowers" on the same set? Mick was freaking out of Sympathy and then doing a heart attack trick I have never seen before. Any doctor would be scared to death but it was only part of the show. And the show itself? Very, very good. 9.99 out of 10. Chicago was 10. This was just as good.

PS. The original set list did not have Night Time but Paint It Black after Sympathy. Would have worked great too.

BV, I was talking to my friend that is on Tour with U2 last week & he told me they were all going to the show last night. I had predicted/hoped that Bono might sing with Mick on Paint it Black! I guess Bono could not make the show. Knowing that the song was on the set list originaly makes me wonder if that would have in fact happened if he had been there!!?? Glad you got to sit next to The Edge! He is without a doubt one of the most awesome guitarist to ever live!
I agree with you on the Wild Horses & Dead Flowers together! They were amazing in Durham also! I sure wish I could have been there last night!
Thanks for your post.

Leonard Keringer, you do not need to worry! Bono will be in San Fransico on Tuesday night. I would have loved to have seen them sing together! I am an individual who likes more than one band and can except other styles of music. I understand the view point that for the limited time you get to see a Stones show that you do not want anyone else on stage during that short 2 hours but in this case I would have loved it!

Leonard, If you were to ever attend a U2 show, you might discover they are pretty damn good! I know and understand that for most hard core Stones fans they are not into the style of music U2 does. I just happen to love their music and have enough balls to stand up for them! I understand this leaves me open to all kinds of different attacks on my opinion but I feel very strongly about them as I do for the Stones. I hope I can be accepted as I am. I also hope they do not tour on the same year again. I can't afford this shit! But I must say, for my wife and I, it has been one hell of a Rock & Roll year! Enjoy tomorrow nights show Leonard! I know you will, it will be great!

Wild Horses and Dead Flowers at MGM Grand In Las Vegas on the last leg of the winter part of the last tour, after the Hard Rock one. Awesome! Hope they throw in some more off the new album in the concerts to come. As of next Friday I have San Diego and then four in a row ending in Fresno! Bring it on...!!!

That set list would have worked just as well at Anaheim Stadium.
Why didn't they do that? It would have pleased most hardcore fans
and probably satisfied everyone else...if they played well, of course.

Hi Fred, didn't meet you in Atlanta, couldn't make it to the Stones pre-show party. Arrived at the airport at 7:30 p.m., had no ticket, no hotel but finally made it into the show. Nose-bleed seat, but the show was awesome. Any chance to meet you in Europe next year???

Hey There WahWahWoody!!! I was hoping to see you there! Glad you got in anyway! We are hoping all will work to where we can get over there next year! It would be awesome for sure! If we can swing it we will be there! The changes in the use of codes could become a hassel. I am hoping that they will list ALL REMAINING SHOWS when they do this. That way we will know exactly what we want to burn our early legacy codes on!! We were hoping to try to see a club/theater gig with one of them. Any ideas on where you will be attending shows? If you get a chance, send me a message on the Shidoobee PM board & I will get you my email address. really would love to hook up & meet you if possible man!
Take care!

Only 3 from ABB & Night time - (& No 'Out of Control' - a late period highlight live) may have been a great show but they should not be REDUCING the amount of new material.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOS ANGELES: The Rolling Stones returned to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time since 1966 on Sunday, playing for about 18,000 fans at the historic venue including U2 guitarist Edge, actor Tom Hanks and cycling champion Lance Armstrong.

The two-hour set was the first of a pair of sold-out performances at the 83-year-old hillside arena as part of the rock band’s ‘A Bigger Bang’ world tour. A second show will take place on Tuesday.

Two days after the band played a spotty show at the vast Angel Stadium in Anaheim, south of Los Angeles, the Stones had to adjust to a no-frills set-up on a tiny stage. At times, hyperactive frontman Mick Jagger could barely contain himself within the tight confines.

In a nostalgic mood, he told the crowd that a lot had changed since 1966, noting that tickets were $4 back then. This time, the top price was $479.50, though some seats in the front were set aside for hardcore fans at $122.50 each.

“The only thing that’s a bit similar is the set list,” Jagger said jokingly, though the only songs that dated from that era were ‘Get Off Of My Cloud’ and the encore tune ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.’ Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Ron Wood, and drummer Charlie Watts let the songs speak for themselves. Despite the historic nature of the show, they did not unearth any rarities, opting for a lineup of tried-and-tested tunes that have been played many times since the tour began on August 21.

The show kicked off in top gear with such chestnuts as ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, ‘It’s Only Rock’n Roll’ and ‘Tumbling Dice’, and detoured into country (‘Dead Flowers’), and epic blues (‘Midnight Rambler’).Jagger also strapped on a guitar for several tunes, including the bottleneck blues of ‘Back of My Hand’, one of three from the band’s new album, also titled ‘A Bigger Bang’.

Besides a delirious Hanks, a low-key Edge and Armstrong, the celebrity quotient also included actor James Spader, who reverentially shook his head throughout the show, his ‘Boston Legal’ co-star William Shatner, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood, comic Garry Shandling, baseball slugger Barry Bonds, actress Meg Ryan, and liberal activist Steve Bing.
