It really is a joke, and has been for as long as I can remember.

I am one of those Rundgren fans that is overjoyed that he's finally getting long-overdue recognition.

But I understand his contempt for the whole process. Yeah, the whole concept is kind of stupid (Really the whole "Awards Show" industry is a vapid, arbitrary conceit, just total b.s.) That said, if you are going to do something, make an attempt to do it right. Over the years, the HoF people have failed miserably.

There have been more than a few artists who have shown their disgust as no-shows: the Sex Pistols and Neil Young when Buffalo Springfield was (finally) inducted.

Steve Miller's no-holds-barred comments and Alex Lifeson's famous blah-blah-blah speech probably made the HoF wish they hadn't appeared.

What do you think? Is Todd wrong not to show?
