Totally agree... Charlie is the main reason I enjoy the interviews. Even though one can guess that he's not fond of interviews, I can always count on Charlieisms to leave me chuckling for months to come.

I always thought that the way he act on stage is silly (all that running etc.). In that sense nothing has changed.

Mick is a bunch of guys - some of then age gracefully at times. In "As tears go by" maybe a bit early, in "Fool to Cry" as a sensitive father, in great lyrical shape about dying in "It won't take long".
Or does this graceful-thing mean that everything has to be a prior generations music old school jazz, the american songbook, Tom Waits-like etc. - tiresome stuff like Crosseyed Heart?

Reading through this again got me to thinking regarding the great American songbook. There's nothing wrong with the great American songbook. It all depends on who is singing it. Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Nat King Cole, Johnny Hartman, Carmen McRae, yes. Rock stars looking to make a buck off of the genre (I'm talking to you Rod), no no no. The same goes for rock stars looking to cash in on the soul music genre (again, I'm talking to you, Rod), pop hits covers, etc. If y'all ain't got the bang, don't beat the drum. Retire to your farm and show up on a cooking show every once and in awhile to show off your newly acquired kitchen skills so we all can go, wow, so that's what happened to....

Prince seemed like he aged-gracefully for a spell there....till it came out he was dinged-up on fentanyl.
Fentanyl - I would add "that's the wrong road to go down" to my aging-gracefully tips.
In the end, if you are happy w/ yourself, then you have aged-gracefully...it's that simple.

Rockman - love it. Mick, as Andy Devine, finally gives in to carbs. Andy Devine was a great character actor. Check him out in 1939's Stagecoach, the movie which made John Wayne a star (and Wayne is really good in it). I remember Andy Devine as the sidekick in the 1950s t-v show about Wild Bill Hickcock, along with what I think was something later called the Andy Devine Show which featured Buster Brown shoes as its chief advertiser, if I am correct. We Boomers can have such odd recalls regarding t-v shows and who played in them.
