Pretty outdated. There was a mask-less, bubble-less, concert in Liverpool, today. No social-distancing, either. The catch? Every attendee had to provide a negative covid test. It’s a far less ridiculous step in the right direction. Saying all this, though: perhaps the Flaming Lips’ concept was just a bit of a joke.

On 20-Mar-2021 there was in Berlin (Germany) a Live-Concert by the Berlin Philharmonic with 1,000 attendees (all were previously negative-tested for Covid-19) - [www.rbb24.de] , [www.Sueddeutsche.de] - (in German) .

Results of this project (details in the PDF): [www.Berliner-Philharmoniker.de] - (in German).

Time for everyone to become acquainted with the Flaming Lips, and Wayne Coyne, showman extraordinaire. They were doing stuff like this pre-pandemic.

Lets see how they feel in a couple weeks.

In UK there were 34.5 million people vaccinated with 1st dose and 15.3 million people with 2nd dose (until May 1, 2021) - [Coronavirus.data.gov.uk] . UK population is 67 million.

The 5,000 Liverpool concertgoers had to provide a negative Covid-19 test to get in and promised to get themselves tested again five days after the festival.

As I understand it, its a two week incubation period.

Successful tests are the ones that fail. Keep that axiom in mind.

This is as much a test of the ability to provide proof of testing negative whether you are or not as much as a test of what happens when supposedly vaccinated people get together in herds.

So, will be interesting to see what develops.

This was interesting as I seen this yesterday on the CBS Early morning show ,and my friends and I could have a blast in one of these gizmos . Probably wouldn't be able to see all that well from it , but that doesn't mean we wouldn't enjoy the ride .

I imagine this is what covid looks like under a microscope magnified a trillion times - pink and bubbly.

The frontman (Wayne Coyne) seems like some sort of nucleus.
I don't know if a virus has a nucleus...

Most likely when they do perform live the crowd will be pushed back a little farther. We probably won't get second stage either.

More distance between the crowd and the performers.

If the performers are vaccinated there is no need for more distance between crowd and stage.

The Flaming Lips are 1 of my absolute favorite bands. They've announced a tour for next year, not the bubble shows. Here's a link if you are interested. I've seen them a lot & their shows are magical.

Just got tickets for the Flaming Lips in Seattle on May 4, 2022. Not a bubble show, in a big club. Hopefully it & myself will be happening.
