They can be... but it's not necessarily why the song is created or what it ends up being titled. Besides, it started out as Never Stop as far as it's known.

Kevin Bacon, though, too many "you knows". That was painful.

It was funny...he was so inarticulate in his description of why he liked the Stones/Start Me Up. It's as though he hadn't really thought of the reason why before and he was struggling to explain the reasons and was figuring it out in his head as he was speaking.

That said, he clearly understands that there is a chemistry there between the players that makes it happen, and obviously loves the music.

Painful interview, but on the other hand quite visceral.

sheeesh tough crowd, I tell ya. I thought he came across as being humble and passionate about the music.

I think Start Me Up was a very important song for the band. More important than some people think. It helped to pave the way for the post 1981 stones.
Their last hit. It had the typical Stones ingredients and is still played at hockey arenas - 40 years after its release...

Interesting he picked up on the 'you make a dead man come' line as an example of them pushing the sexual envelope etc.

As we all know, that line was lifted from Lucille Bogan's 'Shave 'em dry' from 1935 - although that itself was a cover of an earlier version. I wander who originally came up with that line. They deserve a pat on the back whoever they are!

I recall a Stanley Booth interview where he said Keith used to listen to Lucille Bogan's Shave 'Em Dry when they were hanging out in 1969 or around then.

Yes - it's in his 'True Adventures of the Rolling Stones' biog (one of the best imo)
