quite simple: it's my real nature.
no no, i mean: it's a reference to a number that fits me just right,
and at the same time i reckoned it would let people know what gender i am.
of course most people assume i'm a guy anyway - maybe i should've called myself shock them show them. :E

A few people assume that. I had the nickname before HE had, though smiling smiley

Great footballer, but if I was going to borrow someone's nickname, I'd try and look for someone a bit more intelligent...

I didn't know Gazza was a nickname for Gary in the U.K. I thought you were a narrow strip of land that Israelis settled on. Then I looked it up and realized that place is spelled Gaza.

I've received some bizarre e-mails and private messages from Arabs who made the same association....!

I try to be as efficient and succinct communicator as I can be.

I give you a name
I give you a gender
I give you a location

From the names of most of these posters I have no frigging idea who I'm reading and in what context or what cave they're broadcasting from!

A whale is a sympathetic animal. Not very dynamic but friendly.

Always loved "Beggar's Banquet" and especially "Prodigal Son."

When the CD "toilet cover" revealed that "Rev. Robert Wilkins wrote it," I went out and grabbed his collection "The Original Rolling Stone" on Yazoo Records.

That gift--of the Stones turning me on to something I would otherwise not have heard--is one I have been given over and over. A massive factor in my love for the band.

I have this love for Bass Ale, of course! Just as I do for the Stones. Pure pleasure from both! You can say Bass is my vice of choice and that I have had many pints at the shows this year, especially at Fenway!

Keith´s hotel room/section along the VL tour
was called - in a self-ironical way, comin
from Sir Reg Dwight´s words ' a monkey
with Arthritis - Baboon Cage.

Bro is a position-indication, like I´m Keith´s
soul brother.

Because of a spelling error I ended up with Virgil instead of Virgin, as in records.

There's a KISS song called Deuce that I dig...

Story: Gene Simmons's wrote the riff to Deuce by listening to Bitch by the Stones and playing the riff backwards (according to him)

i have used the name elsehwere, figuring a true stones fan would recognize it, but no one else. Here, obviously everyone gets it.

I recently notice there is a Half Nanker in the forum as well. I didnt mean to steal his name, maybe i should change mine, but there doesnt seem to be an option to do that(??)

It is an actual nickname given to me in 1978 by my Led Zeppelin loving friends who I turned on to Some Girls. They were among the many people for whom Some Girls was something of a fad and their first Stones album.

Brian Jones' early stage name. He was trying to sound black and bluesy, I guess.

Re: How Did You Decide On Your Name For This Forum?

I used to be called Captain @#$%& for some years, the name is one of Keith Richards' surnames (listen to bootleg ALL THE GIRLS IN FRANKFURT), when I was young enough for it I used to walk around in a jeans jacket which had the letters CAPTAIN @#$%& on it. There is also a bootleg called CAN YOU HEAR THE MUSIC (MAKES ME WANNA MOVE), released by the Swedish label "Captain @#$%&" in 1982.

Later I learned there was actually a guy calling himself Captain @#$%&, his name was Carl Franzoni from the Zappa gang, a disciple of Vito the Magnificent - KING
OF THE HIPPIES.

However, one day the big BV thought "Captain @#$%&" was a name too rude to be used by a member of this holy forum, so I had to change my name.

Meanwhile I just gotta repeat there are so many @#$%&, @#$%&, Cocks and Shits in the Rolling Stones lyrics, live and studio, they can't be counted. Hail! Hail! to the Rolling Stones! So all pissfolks may remember the one truly immortal line:

"We are not old men, we are not worried about petty morals." (Keith Richards, 1967)

F.U.C. The Captain, interesting story, I always thought it was taken from Woody's
FUC Her tune.

Up and Down with the Rolling Stones by Spanish Tony was the first Stones book I ever read at age 10. It was an eye opening experience to say the least. A good look into the Stones, sex, drugs rock and roll.
