IMO the best Honky Tonk Women were done on the 1975 tour. Love the guitars and Jagger on these.

The LYL-version, with Hyde Park 1969 as a contender.

I was always partial to this one. But Ya-Ya's was the first Stones record I heard many moons ago, so maybe some bias...

‘73 Brussels from Nasty Songs/Bedspring Symphony/KBFH hands down. The tempo is perfect. Mick Taylor’s guitar filler is his typical flawless and subtle. Keith’s opening guitar and his solo break (even the little feedback). The horn section never sounded better. Mick’s vocals are energetic and not sloppy life in ‘75. Keith also does the best job he ever did on backing vocals. Makes me wonder why they didn’t play it on the ‘72 tour other than a couple of the early shows

The opening number at my first show in 1976. Keith hammering out the chord, Charlie on the back-beat, Jagger hiding behind a twirling parasol. Yeah, that was my best Honky Tonk Women live.

This iteration of the song often gets overlooked. It never sounded better than on this tour.

Ronnie Wood and Bo Diddley?

New Barbarians?

Just kidding. I love the song (studio and live).

The LYL version is great, as is the version on Handsome Girls. I even like the Live Licks version with Sheryl Crow! Tina and Mick at Live Aid is good, too.

It's always fun at the gig.

Honky Tonk Women as an opener on the 75/76 tours with that dramatic, toppy, long intro that really got the crowd going.

The 'other' Brussels version (on Bedspring but not the 'Affair')

Leeds '82

The Astoria 2003 (I was lucky enough to be there. HTW came as a surprise - I don't think it was set listed but it kicked ass. i was part of an ecstatic crowd singalong down the front)

. The 1975 ones are my favorite with the Fanfare for the Common Man opener and the stage opening up to the song

I agree. Hyde Park is soooo cool but LYL always kicks me out of my shoes (although it is edited).

This is the most difficult choice for me as this is my numero uno favorite Stones song of all time . Keith hitting those open G chords and Mick coming in with his vocals . Total Perfection and we haven't even gotten to Keith's fill yet , which just brings me such joy

LOL because of... the vocal overdubs?

It's not my fave but I do love it - it's got great lurch.

I'll toss my vote in with the 75 tour opener. I saw 2 shows at Chicago Stadium and again at the outdoor gig in Ft Collins at Hughes Stadium. Great rollicking renditions of HTW!

For me, any Honky Tonk version from 69-73. I just cant get psyched about the "Las Vegas" versions from 1989 onward.
