I finally watched the Rio dvd.
I enjoyed the new edit. I think its better than before.

The sound... Well, the most annoying was Micks vocals being sometimes distorted. I can live with it, but it was better on the old release.

The show it self was good, not the greatest biggest bang show. A little tense. But overall very enjoyable and not bad at all.

I was dreading this release considering the sound quality on the streaming version of the album.

Rio was good and the mix sounded better for the most part, although maybe that's my speakers compared to my headphones.

the big surprise was Salt Lake City. Maybe my favorite Bigger Bang concert release? Good sound and good show, and really representative of what those arena shows felt like that fall and winter.

Apart from the train wreck of Rain Fall Down, it’s a good gig and shows Keith in as good a shape as he could be in that era. And as others have commented, it’s nice that it doesn’t feel like an event show, just the Stones rocking up to the next town on the list and doing their thing.

Probably nothing for the rest of 2021 since we already got 3 major Stones-products (Copacabana Beach, Tattoo-You-Deluxe, US-Tour). And then there's the Stones' Diamond Jubilee in 2022 (+ Golden Jubilee of EOMS) ....

>we already got 3 major Stones-products (Copacabana Beach, Tattoo-You-Deluxe, US-Tour)

1. complete waste of time and money

2. ok, but their weakest "semi golden era" album by a long shot

3 ain't happening.

So that leaves room for Winterland 72 by end of the year.

Wouldn't that fit better for 2022 (50 years)?

As I’m starting out in the vinyl space, this release is actually going to be up there with Tattoo You and many of the other super deluxes. I want all 3 colored vinyls plus the Japanese blu-ray version with the bonus DVD that I’ll never be able to play here in the US but at least I can say I have it! Lol

Just found this while searching out some other stuff:

Unzipped

Not major, but something. Seems like they've all lent their time to it.

The Salt Lake-show was surprisingly good. They really gave all they had there.

With "nothing" I meant From-the-Vault releases or other "major" Stones-products. Unzipped-Book or Carnaby Red-Vinyl are important products but not "major" enough. winking smiley

See here for the Unzipped-Book - [iorr.org] , the Unzipped Exhibition - [iorr.org] or the next Red-Vinyl - [www.Instagram.com] .

Is anybody able to share the new version of Rio Documentary?

National Geographic - same full version (50 mins) as the Japanese DVD but in French (and in low Video-quality) - [www.Dailymotion.com] .

Shortened by 6 scenes (ca. 3 mins missing):

I'm skipping this one. I already have it on the Bigger Bang boxset and I don't like it that much. Al this money grabbing releases from recent tours with 15/20 identical songs.. I'm not buying anymore.

Too bad they didn't tour after Undercover and Dirty Work.

It seems the video works only for USA residents.

Sneak Peek! The Rolling Stones: A Bigger Bang

Rock out with the legendary band at one of the biggest free concerts of all time, recorded in 2006 in Rio in front of an audience of 1.5 million fans. This fully restored and re-mastered concert includes four previously unreleased tracks: Tumbling Dice,” “Oh No, Not You Again,” “This Place Is Empty” and “Sympathy For The Devil.”

I just picked up the 3LP multi-colored vinyl finally on Amazon US yday for $30, along with a copy of Keef's Run Rudolph Run vinyl from a few years back for $9.60. There are quite a few items Stones-related marked down. It always amazes me how the pricing fluctuates so much on Amazon. But happy to have these 2 items in the collection finally. Just need to find a reasonably priced multi-colored splattered Copa LP now!!!
