Wow -45 page thread.... Among these 45 pages, can someone let me know if there is a definitive list (well, maybe as definitive as we can get?) of where each track is from?

ok someone's got to have heard what's going on with rest of the supposed 100 outtakes

are the stones upset over it and taking legal action and that's what's preventing more from coming out?

are the rest as i've suspected outtakes from recent sessions and those who have them don't want to risk pissing off the band by releasing them until after the new album is released?

or is the idea of another 100 outtakes just bullsh-t and what we got is what there is?

come on someone's got to know daddy's got the itch and needs some more of that good sh-tgrinning smiley

Yep it seems things didn't go to "plan" ! The "leak" is supposed to be pre-2002 (a comment here by someone who "asked around") so I don't think the issue is "recent material".

thanks good to know (somehow missed that) wonder if that someone could ask around again and get some more details about what's left and if we'll ever hear any of it

Or a misunderstanding that someone confused 3 CDs (Vol. 1-3) with separate 3 releases (as already mentioned here) ?

Does anybody know who plays the other guitar on Built That Way? The main riff is obviously Keith but I for the life of me can't figure out who the second guitar is. Possibly Wayne Perkins?

I would say Wayne Perkins.

I see that it was cut during the Black And Blue Jan Feb sessions in Rotterdam (tks Nico), so other options could be Jeff Beck and Rory Gallagher, but I am 100% sure that neither Jeff nor Rory are on Built this way.

C

It's Wayne Perkins.

Thanks for the links. I didn't know about the long history. Here's Huey 'Piano' Smith's version from 1956. It's for dancing.

I know most people say "Every Time I Break Her Heart" is from 1977-78 b/c it sounds like some variation of "Far Away Eyes" but to me it sounds more like 1982 sessions. Keith's guitar sounds very similar to the other Undercover songs plus "She Was Hot", Mick's 'manly vocal' he had going during that time period.

Prairie Love does not sound like a 97 song to my ears because of Mick's voice sounding late 70's

Well, I have come to this late.

I am only a quarter of the way through this 46-page thread. Well worth the wait though.

I first discovered about these outtakes from a 10 or 11 song selection on a single CD that popped up on YouTube. It has picture of Jagger as an undead pirate on its cover! More details on that soon.

But one of its tracks is 'Nobody"s Perfect'. I see that there has been much discussion on that track.

My immediate thought was that it is a She's The Boss outtake ( certainly has that vibe) taken to the band at start of DW sessions.

Personally I really like it (as I do STcool smiley though most people consider it one of, if not the, weakest track(s) of the 50.

Like it or not, do people agree that it's a Jagger STB track in origin?

Guess we all know that Drift Away, Windmill, Shame Shame Shame and the early SMU take are among the other supposed to follow volumes of this!?

I still think, reading the cover of the back of the actual release we already have that disc one is called VOLUME 1, disc 2 is called VOLUME 2 and disc 3 is called VOLUME 3. We HAVE 3 volumes. I simply don’t think there ARE two more bootleg volumes.

Just listening to it. First impression is that the bass does not sound like Bill's one. And yes it could be a MJ idea or solo.
The fully finished are just the best ever outtakes of course

I think it is Bill here. A simple repetitive punchy pattern.

I also think it's Charlie - which, considering how it is said he was in really bad shape then, is pretty amazing. Cos the drums are great.

On this selection Desperate Man comes 3 tracks after Nobody's Perfect.

What struck me - much the same bass pattern on its verses but much slower,as on the chorus of Nobody's Perfect.

Whether Jagger is consciously drawing on the earlier song I don't know.

In the 80s they got hammered for using synths and treated drums.

By '97 it was cool!

I wonder if any more of these tracks will be finished and end up on the new album or future releases.

I'm wondering if next year's celebratory release was to have been ( is to be?) a disc of new material, a disc of choice selected outtakes - and perhaps a two-dosc live show!

I have finally started listening to the 50 track collection.

I had mentioned above that my entree to this was via a 12 track selection of them on a separate 'boot' which offeredotself to me on YouTube.

It is titled ' Studio Outtakes Special Edition's

It is a vinyl release? - hence the twelve tracks I guess.

On listening to the 50 track collection I immediately notice that Nobody's Perfect on the 'vinyl' selection is a different mix - and far better -to the 50 track FFSO one.
I think this may be true of Desperate Man too, but can't say which is better yet.

The 12 track selection, in running order, is ......

Dream About
Nobody's Perfect
It's a Lie
Giving it Up
Desperate Man
Still in Love
Ivy League
For Your Precious Love
Trouble's a Coming
Never Make You Cry
Criss Cross
You Win Again

The first six tracks are a really good sequence. The next six less so.

I absolutely agree with you. 1982 is much more fitting sound wise. And it is certainly not a 'pre-' version of Faraway Eyes.
