Any guess on who is playing the rhythm guitar on "Cooking up"? It does not sound like Keith. It is an energic strumming but no "chopping" a la Keith. May be Jagger. If it's him, it proves that he is a decent strummer.
Rockandroll,

Rock and a hard place
Highwire
Don't stop

Even if you don't like these songs there's good strumming by Mick.

(And most of some girls)

We can add:

Stop Breaking Down
Sway
Winter
Silver Train
Moonlight Mile
Undercover (Of The Night)

And many, many others smiling smiley

Apart from that, looks like you "leave it at that" because you have to leave it at that due to the lack of better arguments.

In a sense that's true, because I do not have the arguments as I find it very complicated and do not understand it myself. And as your answers are not satisfying and I do not like your tone of voice I prefer to stop the discussion.

For any Questions about the recordings (where, when, with...) i recommand felix aepplis online book. he is one of the big collectors.

[aeppli.ch]

you will find every data you can imagine about them.

Thanks Rockeeeee, got lots of alcohol but am finding it somewhat counterproductive.

Treacle, you’re not invited to my next Exorcism.

Irix, am still shut out, even after your help and calling in a few favours at this end. My Import preference is set at MP3. Maybe I’m doing the alcohol part wrong... didn’t Bobby just fill the bathtub? Where’s my rubber ducky?

OK...we can just call it a devil-of-a-party instead!

Imo it's quite messy and hard to navigate in.
I prefer Nico's site.

Do you suppose Keith leaked this stuff? He did say there was new music on the horizon!

I don't think so, both are different things. With new music he probably meant: "If this thing [pandemic] goes on much longer we might try to put out another track. Work differently, instead of making an 'album' album ... just release tracks." - (23-Aug-2020) - [iorr.org] .

Right, Aeppli hasn't updated his site yet since FFSO hit the wires and he's also missing the info from the studio logs that leaked last year according to ME and gave us this : [iorr.org]

I understand that but hasn't an subliminal aggression crept into the posts of both of us?

While I'd like to discuss the legalities in copyright terms and have no problem being proven wrong by legal arguments, you tend to counter my points with "soft arguments" only, in a way saying that I must be wrong because you simply believe I just can't be right. As this has happened before on the same subject, maybe my unfriendly tone becomes at least a bit more understandable.

Anyway, if you want to start a public domain label by yourself, why don't you just consult me as your legal advisor - instead of beating around the bush?

I think I managed to get the flat files. Now they won’t burn to disc. I really hate technology. Why won’t they just release it & let me buy it at a reasonable price ffs

Not sure how often you've done this but flac files are pretty large so make sure you have enough space on the disc. Apologies if you've already done that. Agreed, I can't believe they've kept this stuff back all this time.

After multiple listens, I have one conclusion...... we need a multi CD box set of Bridges to Babylon. BTB was their best studio release since Tattoo You. I always loved that record and after hearing the outtakes on this boot release, it has only grown in my estimation. Those are some great songs!!!!

Yup it was an ideal situation :

- unlike VL all the songs they had written in 95 or 96 were dedicated to the album. This time there was no solo effort to suck some of the songwriting like in 91 and 92.

- Keef and Mick had agreed to work with whoever they wanted (the Dust Bros and Saber for Mick, Fabroni for Keef) which did them good.

- therefore Was' imput was lesser than on VL = he did less damage to the music

- despite the "outsiders"' inclusion Mick and Keef still managed to write together : the fantastic TITNight is a 50/50 Mick and Keef collaboration.

Based on what's said here [timeisonourside.com] it doesn't sound like Mick had a lot of involvement with writing TITN...but there is a version with his vocals on it that "sounded terrible" according to Keith, naturally. Maybe we'll get that on the next FFSO volumes if/when they make it to us.

Thief in the night -fantastic? Two chords and Keith saying "baby, baby" for five minutes...Yes, Mick MUST have been involved in such a masterpiece...
