I understand there's two 3-CD sets worth of this material coming...

Mathijs

That’s some potential “Code Brown” info right there!
Can you expand on this at all?

My new bumper sticker:

Our band's outtakes are better than your Band's finished product!

I downloaded all of it on the app collect. Is there a way to make the songs keep playing and not stop after every song? I am not very technically minded LOL

What an afternoon I'm having smiling smiley)

First heard 'Fiji Gin' on 'Accidents Will Happen', when I was a student in Bradford circa 1982, There was a regular record fair (in the textile hall??) and there was a guy who would tape the vinyl bootlegs he was selling, for a price. Now, nearly 40 years later, to hear it in this quality has put a smile on my face.

Can anyone supply the correct titles and years? Regarding 'Dog Shit', this was a working title for 'Pretty Beat Up' I believe, so that title can't be right. Jagger appears to be howling 'Bad Love' or 'Bad Luck'??

I just hope that whatever project this were being readied for will still go ahead. i prefer finished lyrics, old or new, but I know plenty of you disagree.

Thanks to all concerned !

Would be nice if we could merge all the discussions on these new tracks here and on the Hot Stuff section in one huge Track Talk thread.

Covered with Bruises the first time I heard Jagger and Wood lead the vocals on a Stones song!

Imo Too Tight was far better with Keef on vocal and that violin

Sorry Jordylicks - I somehow overlooked your post - exactly what I was hoping for in terms of years/sessions.

First thanks to all involved, I didn't expect a so good release. Putty In Your Hands would have been a great single, even if Harlem Shuffle ain't bad.

Wish there were soma alternate takes of songs with Ry Cooder, if any exist. And would like to hear Babyface's mix of Already Over Me. Maybe on next album.

I like me some Dog Shit

That is brilliant! Not bluesy or groovy Stones, but as pop and anthemic as they have done. I definitely thought the title referred to Ronnie's Pretty Beat Up.

Listened to 10 or so tracks thus far, enjoying all! 'Desperate Man' - what a wonderful song.

What a gift, 50 of these and perhaps more to come smiling smiley

Is Dogshit really 1982? Sounds like DW era. Either way, great stuff indeed.

That's the first one I listened to last night, and glad to see this version already up on youtube. I thought it sounded slightly familiar, so looked it up on youtube last night and found jordylicks had put up a different version sans vocals and with horns dominating (almost sounds like synthesizer on my laptop) about 10 months ago. I think I also have both versions on a bootleg somewhere, or at least the older version w/out vocals, but never gave them much thought. Hearing the "new" version above with Micks vocals, Ronnie's guitar much louder, and way less cheesy horns, the tune comes to life. Maybe I'm just really hungry for some more new Stones.....
Will have to dig through the boots and see what I've got...

Anyhow, here's the older version w/synth sounding horns which sounds a bit like early '80's Genesis with a high school marching band leading the way.

Does anyone like I can´t see no one else? The melody line brilliant, but Micks not too interested, sounds like he didn´t want to finish lyrics.

I'm not a boot expert, and not sure how accurate this info. is, but found this on bootlegpedia.com regarding two versions:
One from France, 1982, and another version from New York, 1983. Someone else here can probably confirm accuracy.

Wow. With Ronnie’s background vox so prominent, it sounds like the Faces.

What an unexpected treat this all is.

I was surprised how much it reminds me of Ronnie's first solo album (although I always knew it came from there).
and a little bit of bowie as someone pointed out

Thanks for that Hairball. Listened to the other version JordyLicks had up also (no vocals, prominent horns), I missed that previously. I love UC so must look up the Art Collins UC tapes mentioned.

The vocal version rocks, just a really cool tune. UC, the album and the outtakes we have, quite a lot of great stuff was recorded in '82/'83.

Listening to the exuberant amount of material they recorded for UNDERCOVER, it's a shame the final product wasn't that great. Just my opinion, but they had a great batch of songs that could have made the album.

That's true. They had to scrub (or mix way down) his guitar parts, and replaced them with Keith's gnarly tones. Not sure it was an improvement!
