A great read on the women who were among the first blues singers to gain fame but are now largely unknown. I have a number of old timey blues (as I call it) by the women noted in the article, and others, discovered on utoob and other stops along the Information Super Highway. Their takes on life, love and living is something great to listen to. The Stones, among a few others, are noted in the article in terms of the blues stylings they chose to emulate. Enjoy.
