Because guitars with six strings are his guitars of choice 80 percent of the time?

Looks like an old Fender amp. Maybe a modified Harvard or something. Whatever it is it has a name badge that says One Love. Kinda Cool

The "One Love" amp

Richards’ stock guitar amp setup in the studio is a tweed Fender Champ with an eight-inch speaker, combined with a tweed Fender Harvard modified with a 6L6 output stage tube and a 12” speaker, nicknamed “One Love.”

The modification makes the Harvard a single-ended or Class A amp, like the Champ. “The Harvard adds a little bottom end and clarity,” de Beauport explains. “And Keith is always plugged into Input 2 on the Champ, not Input 1. We turn the Champ up to about 4, no higher—to where it’s just starting to break up.” Amps for overdubs included a tweed Fender Bandmaster with three 10-inch speakers and an early-Sixties Watkins Joker. Less well known than the popular Watkins Dominator, the Joker is truly bizarre.

Huh. Usually when a question is asked, it is answered with a declarative statement, not one with another question mark at its end. In other words, are you asking or are you telling? And if the latter, how do you know that gem of information?

thanks

Because, like most guitars, they don't have 5 or 12.

You want me to be more specific, and conclusive? smiling smiley

OK, the reason I (and hundreds of musicians on here) know this is that I have studied Keith's playing closely, hence found out which songs that have guitars in open tuning. There are way fewer than many people think.

A couple of examples: On The Stones's best-selling album SG only one song is in open G, played by Keith (BTMMR). On ER there are none. On a typical setlist nowadays (random pick Chicago 2019), where many of the classic open G-tunes are included, only 7 out of 20 songs are in open G.

Maybe I am wrong but I count 10 songs that had an open G guitar. [www.setlist.fm]

Chicago, June 25 2019 (Songs with Keith on open G in bold):

Jumping Jack Flash
It's Only Rock'n'Roll
Tumbling Dice
Bitch
Ride 'Em On Down
Monkey Man (vote song)
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Play With Fire (B-stage acoustic)
Sweet Virginia (B-stage acoustic)
Sympathy For The Devil
Honky Tonk Women
--- Band introductions
Slipping Away (Keith)
Before They Make Me Run (Keith)
Miss You
Paint It Black
Midnight Rambler
Start Me Up
Brown Sugar
--- Band off stage
Gimme Shelter
Satisfaction

There were 9 songs with Keith in open G on that other Chicago setlist.

On LSTNT he switches back and forth between standard and open G, though (1977 was in standard, 1981/82 standard, 1997/98 was open G, 2006/07 was standard, 2012-2019 open G).

Other songs he has played in both tunings are IORR (open G in 1975), Around And Around (open G in 1977), Little Red Rooster (open G in 1977). Probably a couple of more songs, too.

I tend to agree.

Well played, but nothing very original, no ?

I don't know what would make someone sad about that, looks to me like Keef is digging it and it sounds pretty good to me. Its not like Babe Ruth hit a homer every time at bat, and it sounds far from a strike out to me.

frankly its seems to rough and short to know what it will be like when its finished this may not even be anything other someone filming him playing for an hour then keith says just put up a 40 sec clip i don't care what god knows he dosen't run his own twitter

The secret of the Stones sound was Charlie trying to keep up with Keith. Now Keith is struggling to keep up with the drummer.

Come on...it's just a 40 seconds clip with Keith jamming along wirh
a drummer,probably Steve Jordan...
What's the sense to over analyse this...
