Here is an interview from with Keef from the apartment next to Tower Records on East 4th street.

Also, as i mentioned in the linked thread about the apartment at 1 Fifth Ave,
Keef never stepped foot in that apartment.

Here is Mick after a 1981 NYC show
being escorted home.

I asked Bill German (author of the great book "Under Their Thumb") where Mick lived as I wanted the location of certain photos. Bill responded:

"135 Central Park West, between 73rd & 74th Streets. It was an apartment
building (around the corner from John & Yoko's apartment in the "Dakota"
building), where Mick lived from around 1980 to 1983."

Bill German did great reporting about the Stones during his run with the Rolling Stones fanzine "Beggar's Banquet."

If you hadn't read "Under Their Thumb," get it. I couldn't put it down. LOVE IT!

Read the story about Bill at Mick's apartment! I could picture the whole ordeal!

Here's Bill's book on Kindle: [www.amazon.com] click on the book to read some of the story of the Rolling Stones in the late 1970's and beyond.

Keith with Bill in the background in NYC.

Mick's apartment building was the Langham, not far from the Dakota.

I wrote back to Bill German....

"Yes, Mick lived at an apartment building at 135 Central Park West (bet. 73rd &
74th) from 1980 to 1983. (That's where I used to drop off the issues (of Beggars Banquet fanzine) with his
doorman.)

But then he moved to his own townhouse on West 81st Street (off of West End
Avenue), where, in September 1983, the infamous "Orange juice" incident took
place during my interview with him.

Somehow Mick Living in NYC doesn't feel quite right. Keith in Connecticut makes more sense.

"Impressed with Beggars Banquet, the Stones gave the 'zine instant cred on the rock scene by singing its praises -- and by inviting German to hang with the band. At first a fish out of water in the company of rock royalty, German found himself spilling orange juice on a priceless rug in Mick Jagger's house and getting pegged as a narc by pals of Keith Richards and Ron Wood. But before long he became a familiar fixture in the inner sanctum, not just reporting Stones stories but living them. He was a player in the Mick-versus-Keith feud and was an eyewitness to Keith's midlife crisis and Ron's overindulgences. He even had a reluctant role in covering up Mick's peccadilloes. "In the span of a few months," German recalls, "I'd gone from wanting to know everything about my favorite rock stars to knowing too much."

In remembering Bill retelling the story, Mick was very gracious about it, cleaning it himself etc.
