Nice little read. The incubator for many it seems.

Very interesting. And being born and raised in Ealing, well do I remember the place. Just as the article says, "in the alleyway alongside where the ABC Cafe once stood". Many a cup of tea and a sticky bun had in there during my school years. Indeed, last time I found myself in Ealing, I looked out of interest to see if the place was still there, and sure enough it was - then a nightclub called the Red Room. It's probably still that today.

Famous landmark now !!

They sre are still occasional gigs: [www.ealingclub.com]

I have seen Chris Jagger, Ben Waters, Terry Marshall (of Marshall Amps) also with numerous guests. I also met Matt Lee at the bar.

Great place but when is the next gig...

Indeed very poor journalism by that guy Chilton. Also his mentioning that Mick, Keith and Dick met with Brian Jones AND Charlie Watts is poor journalism. Charlie was still very much involved in other bands, even though Brian knew Charlie from Alexis Korner's band Blues Incorporated hot smiley

Love the place. Only there once, in between the Stones London gigs in May 2018 to see Chris Jagger. Of course, we were all just hoping against hope that a certain gentleman/gentlemen might show up! And you know what, the next night in his on-stage banter, Mick said something about how they used to play places like the Ealing Club!!

and there is a historical plaque near there dedicated to the place as the birth place of British blues if I am not mistaken. I think it said blues and something else, can't just now remember exactly.
