It's Only Rock 'N' Roll: The Ultimate Guide to the Rolling Stones
by James Karnbach (Author), Carol Bernson (Author)

Rest in Peace Carol Bernson

I'll miss Carol Berson at Rolling Stones concerts, visiting her at
her New York City apartment, dinners and phone and text messages. Carol was a
big Stones fan. With James Karnbach wrote the above mentioned book.

All of the times I've spent with Carol and all of the communications (I always
would call her on her birthday and stay in touch for the holidays), Carol was
a lovely person and always great to talk with.

I remember watching rare Rolling Stones videos at her apartment. I remember
the first time I met Carol at dinner in Greenwich Village. There were a group
of Stones fans having a great time. We were friends ever since.

One great memory was after seeing a Mick Taylor concert at The Bottom Line in
New York City, we offered Carol and James a ride back to her place. She asked
if we'd give her friend a ride too. That was okay. No problem. The next thing
I knew this guy gets in the car and says, "Hi, I'm Mick." Yes there was Mick Taylor
in the from seat!

We went back to Carol's apartment but first Carol asked Mick if he take a photo
with me. I was smiles from ear-to-ear. David taking the photos said, "Mick,
How about playing "Going South" on air guitar?" Mick started wailing away on
air guitar I was laughing while James Karnbach was leaping through the air and
doing pirouettes in the background.

After the impromptu photo session in the streets of NYC, we went to Carol's
apartment with Mick Taylor and had a nice conversation.

Thanks again, Carol and James. I love you both!

Now it's time for a good cry.

Were you also at Freddy's birthday party in the Memory Motel? I was. I can't remember Carol was there, but as the (pro bono) creative lead editor of SPM I spent the whole night (till around 04.00 in the morning) talking with James in his room with the colorful painted wall. Highly stimulating conversations we had, also about Carol. 21 years ago, myohmy, time flies! I was sent there by the owner of SPM, because people thought that Keith would visit Freddy's birthday. I could not imagine Keith going there, because security measures were not at place.
It's sad to hear that James' co-editor Carol has passed away. I'm sure James will have a hard time. Bless her soul.sad smiley
