I always liked Saxon. Biff still has a great hardrock voice.
Here´s the new cover with the Stones front right:

There are many. Even swedisch black metal lords Marduk did one.
The problem is that the original is too unique. It doesnt make sense to re-style.

This one by Black Dahlia Murder has the best groove, imo.

This W.A.S.P. cover is without a doubt the BEST metal cover of Paint it Black around. It blows away Saxon's go at it.

Can't believe Biff needs to look at his lyric sheet for this, blasphemy...

I love the Deep Purple cover because it features Ian Paice, the grooviest drummer in rock.

Well I didn't dig it cause they don't do their own thing with it
You're not gonna outdo the Stones version but can as many have, get an original take on one of em
Good rockers tho. No foul but it didn't add anything to the composition imo.
It didn't slam heavy heavy hard metal...which could have been interesting.

The singer is a blind person, so watching all black was a vital leitmotiv, I watch them back in the early 90s. Good local band.

I saw Saxon open up for Krokus and Cheap Trick in the early 80's. Didn't seem to fit with the other two bands, didn't care for them. Krokus was awesome, and of course Cheap Trick is always a great show.
