Rod's "Jealous" is almost a straight copy of "Miss You".

Do You Think I'm Sexy is a rip off of Bobby Womack's (If You Want My Love) Put Something Down On It - which, if you don't already know it, is a stunning, smooth jam.

Well, you see, "Street Fighting Man" is a song written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and originally recorded by the Rolling Stones rock group.

Everybody appears to be impressed by Street Fighting Man, but for a change I stick to the thread title ...
When I heard Hot Legs (and off course saw the video clip winking smiley) for the very first time, my immediate response was indeed "Rod borrowed that one from Crazy Mama". There is this misterious link though .... Ronnie Wood grinning smiley
Is he the "connection"?
Both songs are pleasant heavy head shaking slow time rockers and maybe candidates for that other thread about what music to play during (slow) sex ... grinning smiley
smileys with beer

In the 1970's Rod Stewart "borrowed" everything from the Rolling Stones.

He did that "limp arse" (I disagree) SFM--which starts out with him doing his own thing, but then midway through shifts into a Stones groove. It was kind of a bold move to cover the Stones at the time, not unlike him doing Elvis songs on Beck-Ola.

He covered Womack's "It's All Over Now" which the Stones had done first and pretty much owned as far as anybody knew then. Rock fans had never heard of the Valentinos version.

Faces also used to do "Love In Vain" live early on.

I hear bits of "Happy" in "Stone Cold Sober." Same for "Tumbling Dice" in "Three Time Loser"

Once he split from the Faces--who were kind of like "the Rolling Stones, Jr." that gave us a regular fix between the three-year wait between Stones tours--he took a nose-dive into self-parody.

Frankly, I think "Hot Legs" is an abomination.

Well, simple three chord rock´n´roll songs...it´s not Brahms...But I do prefer Rod´s Hotlegs to Crazy Mama. Tighter and more fun and sexy.

I met Rod's guitarist, Emerson Swinford, whilst working as a tour guide in my homeland of Scotland.

He is a really nice guy who arranged free tickets plus a backstage-pass for me and my wife last year in Glasgow.....

Fantastic show, although he didn't play Hot Legs....Loads of other great songs though....
