What a great read. I would call this a true Americana label as it covered and released so much of the music found across the country. I have some of their old time blues and country collections on disc and tape, along with stuff from the label I came across on various music blogs. I think this quote from the article is so right on: “Kids these days don’t value music like we once did and have so many other things to spend their money on. I hope we can last a few more years because I’m uninterested in golf.” Reminded me of some of my daughters friends who said they couldn't watch movies from the 1930s and 1940s because many of them were in black and white and they couldn't relate to watching movies that weren't in color. The Stones are even mentioned in the article.
