My favorite sax solo on a Stones song is by Trevor Lawrence on the Brussels official release You Can’t Always Get What You Want. Closely behind would be Sonny Rollins On Waiting on a Friend and Bobby Keyson Brown Sugar.Honorable mention, Brian on Dandelion

Can't pick an absolute favorite as there's plenty of great ones, and most of my favorites are Bobby Keys whether live or in studio.
Off the top of my head - Live With Me... Can't You Hear Me Knocking...Brown Sugar....Rip This Joint...Sweet Virginia...and many more...

Waiting on a friend. A pity there's a fade out when it's getting Jazzy. Bobby Keys was always bingo btw.

An interesting version: Karl Denson's jazzy solo on 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking', Sticky Fingers Live (Fonda Theatre, 2015).

Waiting On A Friend Hampton 1981 and Miss You Studio

Now the worst: For me it's the released version of Think I'm Going Mad. Wayyy over the top kitsch. That fast minor pentatonic run somewhere in the middle...horrible. I much prefer the subtle sax that's playing the riff on the bootleg version with Keith's vocals.

This brings up a great idea for a playlist!

Slave
CYHMK
Neighbours
Waiting On A Friend
Live With Me

Certainly there are more. I like this kind of thing, focusing on one particular aspect of a song. I made a playlist a while back of just the horns songs. Pretty cool.

Slave

Honorable mentions to:

Coming Down Again -Around 3:55, there are 2 sax parts breezily playing back and forth to each other. It's only for about 20 seconds, but I've always enjoyed that section and thought it was cool they let Bobby have 2 overdubs.

Rip This Joint

CYHMK coda (obviously, lol!)

Best Stones Song to have Sax to?

27 songs based on having saxophone in them, the first being Honky Tonk Women. The last one is Pretty Beat Up.

Is that right? That can't be right. They haven't had sax on an LP since UNDERCOVER?

Without a doubt, Bobby Keyes' solo on 'Brown Sugar'. Had to be his signature moment...although his contribution on Elton John's 'Whatever Gets You Through the Night' wasn't too shabby either.

Casino Boogie is fantastic, with that repeating one note for the first 12 bars or so. And Pretty Beat Up, which is wild, chaotic, aggressive, and utterly fantastic.

All of them.

Sax in Brown sugar is specially stimulating, arousing...

Flip's got a barytone sax and Shorter in How Can I Stop play a soprano sax. Myself I play the alt and I agree with some people here, Casino Boogie and Pretty Beat Up, them two share the top spot pour moi.

I also love the soprano sax played by Tim live for The Worst during the first leg of the 2005 ABB tour.

Don't forget the "sax bass" on Had It With You smiling smiley

There are saxes on Bridges To Babylon (FTS, YDHTMI, HCIS, TITN).

Sad Sad Sad has a sax break. There's some on Rock And A Hard Place as well.
