It’s getting to the end of a pretty awful year. One musical silver lining has been plenty of new music from some of my favourites. My personal top 3 -

1. Letter to you/Springsteen. Very welcome e-street return
2. Serpentine Prison/Matt Berninger. Great solo effort from The National front man
3. Gigaton/Pearl Jam. Definite grow-er with moments of brilliance

And fortunate that two of my favourite albums received the deluxe reissue treatment, plus my fifth favourite stones album -

1. New York/Lou Reed
2. Sign o the times/Prince
3. Goats head soup/Stones

Although I personlly don't connect to Dylan's latest album: I think it deserves a honorable mention

Rolling Stones-Steel Wheels Live (I don't think of it as a "re-issue" as this was its first "official" physical release beyond the actual night of the pay-per-view followed by subsequent radio/TV broadcasts)
