"Q - Does the band have any plans for the 60th anniversary, which is coming up in a few years?

Keith - Well, the plans are to still actually all be alive"

The last question was a bit unnecessary though....

It is great that Mister Richards says something positive about their later albums, which are a bit underrated, as I think.

Don’t sound promising about the Stones album.Only half way through oh dear.Thought they were sharing ideas and collaborating virtually.
Never knew the Winos did a version of Little T and A,and I wanna be your man.Interesting.

What .. that means in another five years it will be complete and then we may see it then or a year after? That isn't so bad now is it... a new studio album of new material every decade .. Hell in fact this is the usual (three studio albums of new stuff since 1989 .. ... ??). In fact ... they are right on schedule.

<half way done after five years .. wow ... just wow??>

I didn't care for that one. It was like a parody of a Keith interview.
Ask about writing Satisfaction while sleeping? Check
A part about giving up heroin and coming back rejuvanate? Check. (Only they've got him getting clean 10 years after he supposedly did.
Obligatory question about when he's going to die? Check.

Very sad to hear they're only half way finished with the supposed new album, but not surprised by it either.
There's a chance they're not even that far along...eye rolling smiley...it's actually sad and ridiculous at the same time.

The general public doesn't know a Stones song released after Tattoo You.. I guess releasing new material doesn't matter anymore, it will be forgotten in no time, the old stuff just lives on

Many people have been comparing the year 2020 to 1968, and the Stones were very much at the center of 1968 culturally. What’s your most vivid memory from that year?

Hmm, ‘68. Yeah. I was so embroiled in recording, writing songs. I mean, in ‘68 I was only grabbing little bits of what was going on around, because things were changing incredibly in ‘68.

I guess I picked up on a bit. I was also unfortunately going into my blue period, which took me 10 years to get out of. I remember that I wrote “Gimme Shelter” and I was just writing, writing, writing, and recording. Also, I was with Anita Pallenberg, it was our first year together. Really, when it comes to it, I was just overworked and overloved.

True.
Although, I think that is true for almost all popular music since the early eighties.

I'm convinced we will see another solo album from Keith before we get a full studio album of originals from the Stones.

Just look at the Stones' nostlgia-filled setlists - apprx. 95% is pre-1982, with the "newest" tune from their last show in 2019 being Out of Control from '98.
From their last show in Miami, 2019: > Oldies but goodies

There were other shows though where the "newest" tune was Keith's Slipping Away from '89, with the rest of the set being pre-'82.

In my personal view, the Stones aren't performing for the posters on this board, i.e. their "big fans." While we would all like that to be the case, the simple truth is that the vast majority of any stadium show is filled with people who want nothing but the hits and a very small percentage of fans who know or want the deep cuts. People pay a lot of money for tickets to see the Stones and Mick is no dummy. He's going to give the vast majority of the people what they want. And what the vast majority wants is nothing but the hits, no matter how many times their setlist is discussed on this and other threads. Those thinking they are going to get something different are, to put it nicely, delusional.

I think you're preaching to the choir, i.e. their "big Fans" keefmick as most on this board already realize the Stones are a nostalgia act and have been for many years.
An occasional obscurity (such as Mercy Mercy), but most here would never expect anything more than that in a stadium show.

Don't worry Hairball. Keith is a wise man and goes for the safe side ... halfway.

Keith: "I think we have about half an album done". Safe side: an Album with just 10 Tracks. About half an album: rounded down 4 Tracks then. Would fit to Keith's 'early stages' last year .... winking smiley
