Between A Rock And A Hard Place

Watching Axl and Izzy choosin' to sing "They're choosin leaders but get gamblers instead" on the 31th of october 2020 a couple of days before the US election and the show took place in the present US President's casino 31 years ago.
Coincidences again and again! Some gamble some don't, wherever one might be in life.

This is not a political statement, I wish Love and Prosperity for every single human being on this earth. Just funny that one happen to watch it on the 31th of october, Mick and Keith wrote the tune around 67-68, perform it live (once only ever probably) 31 years ago and now we're in 2020!

Just goes to show Rock n Roll is sacred and ALWAYS get to the subject, GOD bless Rock n Roll!!! smileys with beer

Having said all this, I agree there's a certain structural issue in the US. Us europeans ain't involved, only one episode from my own experience:

I went to Cleveland in 2005 to first catch Oasis and then straight to LA to stay with my cuz and the Stones at the bowl (and Nine Inch Nails, fell asleep though). Anyway, in Cleveland I stayed at the Holiday Inn facing Lake Erie and R n Roll hall of Fame. In the reception they keep tellin' me, "Don't go beyond the 8th street". Ok?

So I did.

Had a wonderful time, they asked me about my heimat and did we have a good time!

A little bit like Keith in Life, "other side of the tracks and blah blah blah". We're really all the same inside, God Speed to all.

The society is gettin' more and more stupid though(blame smart phones and too much bad technology), thank God we got The Stones!!!

The Song is somewhat ripping Steve Van Zandt's Anti Apartheid moment. Jagger was a fan of the Sun City song.

With a view to the position of the author of this thread in an earlier thread (as to two bands), I have found it necessary to biden my time, but now see my chance to outtrump him.

Not forgetting his earlier views I now address his last paragraph above with the following link (listen to it!)

I am sorry I just don't get them. I remember seeing Wim Wenders movie "An Angel In Berlin" and just love Peter Falk and all the rest of the actors and the beautiful photo and plot an' all but then this band comes on and just, phhff.
For me they're all that Rock n Roll ain't.

Nice input though Mr Witness!!smileys with beer

So crazy, I played Cash's 25 Minutes To Go today and I was thinking about putting on the Mercy Seat (Cash's version) on as well as I think it suits to follow but decided for a walk instead. It sure is a beautiful song. Strange Strange Strange that this occurs today!!!!! Hats off to you Mr Witness!smileys with beer
