There seem to be as many different opinions as to what euphoric means as there are songs nominated grinning smiley

Seems to be true based on some of the picks listed here.
I've based my picks on the definitions below, and the euphoric affect those tunes have on me:

From Cambridge dictionary: euphoria:
extreme happiness, sometimes more than is reasonable in a particular situation:

From Oxford dictionary: euphoria:
an extremely strong feeling of happiness and excitement that usually lasts only a short time

.........

To get a grip of this concept: Are there songs that are great, but not "euphoric"?

If possible, may I have a few examples?

Well then...based upon the definition of euphoric...'Happy' would seem to be the most logical choice, no?

But I wanted examples of songs that may be great, but NOT euphoric.

Wouldn't that be subjective?

Apart from what else in this thread?

Or is simply: "Great song" = "Euphoric song"?

Paint It Black
Dancing With Mr. D.
Heartbreaker
Coming Down Again

I'd rate the top three euphoric songs:
1- Rainbow
2- Happy
3- Rocks Off

(honorable mentions: Dance, Rip This Joint)

Thank you, Mister DDDD, for your response! Very interesting examples.

I will await if others fully agree or to some extent might disagree.

An exquisite choice.

I wonder though if not to some listeners that would be a prime example of an euphoric song.
" ........
But if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need."

However, the example seems to show that for some songs at least it is the lyrics that make candidates for "euphoric songs". Then it is the music that decides if the potential is realized.

Is that the case?

Is the song meant to be euphoric, or is it enough that I get an euphoric feeling? My suggestions were based on the latter smiling smiley

Child of the Moon, especially the rapturous ending. Tumbling Dice is also a good choice but some of the songs people are voting for makes me think there are way too many Americans on this board.

I don't know the percentage of Americans on this board. BV once listed the demographics. Maybe we should revisit the stats. smiling smiley

What does that mean? Euphoria is euphoria, right?

Also of She Was Hot, especially the extended mix and the live version at the Beacon. Whoooo!
