Dartford doesn't look anything like what I imagined.

The first time I heard it, I had to get used to the loud and rather monotonous drums, but I have come to love this song. I think it's one of the best solo songs Keith ever did.

A classic, Keith doin' Motown. Main Offender is a perfect record IMHO.

The production is really amazing on this song. Could have been recorded yesterday because it doesn't sound dated at all. Sort of like Dreams by Fleetwood Mac in a way production-wise.

A true gem, alongside "Words of Wisdom", within an album I otherwise locked myself out of believing Keith Richards has anything to add to the incredible legacy he had already by then achieved (I haven't changed that opinion ever since).

The video reminds me that of "Following The River". Although lacking that artistic ambition and controversary the Stones and Jagger videos typically are famous for. That is: this video relies pretty much on 'stating the obvious', relying on easy sentimentality within a way too obvious vocabulary. Every frame of the video is like a cliche. Yeah, bro.

However, I think that exactly is the function of Keith Richards products within the Stones empire, giving that feel of 'soul to soul', 'emphatic closeness' they, especially Jagger, otherwise lack to have. The Stones hardcore fans are very rarely treated with such things. So, to satisfy that urge, I think the video is a well done product. A therapeuthic move even, one might say, to let us grow up 'gracefully' at least a bit, like normal people do. We need that.

By the way, "Hate It When You Leave" is the most streamed Keith Richards solo song with its 2.2 million streams ("Trouble" the second with 2,0 m, followed by "Take It So Hard" with its 1,6 m streams). This video surely helps to boost its streams.

But a true gem the song is. One of the very best things from Keith, Mick or anyone from the Stones circles during all these 'post-TATTOO YOU' decades.
