Either 69 or 70.
I'd say 1970 European tour.
Maybe swedish gig? I saw similar pics from there.

I'd say both Jagger's costume and the mark on the wedge (the British WEM) point to a European source = the 1970 tour.
It can't be Paris as at those gigs the 1st rows were occupied by ugly-looking dudes in their 30's! grinning smiley And the faces of the young girls here "look" North-european.

White trousers. Might be Amsterdam 1970? Link to pic from the show: [www.morrisonhotelgallery.com]

If you compare trousers & shirt then it could indeed be the European Tour 1970 (30 Aug. - 9 Oct. '70) :

It's indoors so it ain't Råsunda in Stockholm, I also believe it's Amsterdam. Don't look like Malmö or Denmark either.

Box was always there and he wore the trousers at a few other shows (Germany). So it's hard to say.

But wouldn't it be great to go back in time.
Leaning on stage 1st row in 1970?!

Good eye, I think you're right.
The star on the stage is a bit off as well I think.
First pic girls elbow almost up on it, second pic, that doesn't look feasible.

Paris (22-24 September '70) has had a low stage -- and Hamburg 14-Sep-1970 too: [iorr.org] .

HAMBURG 1970.

I think HAMBURG 1970 because:
The guy sitting next to the speaker (security?) looks the same in this video (after he lost his jacket): [www.youtube.com]

Also at 00:42 you can see the empty arena and if you look at the picture - it certainly looks like it.

That stage also looks a little taller. Closer, though smiling smiley

I've made the original picture a bit brighter - maybe someone can recognize the venue better:

It is definitely NOT Amsterdam. When you look at the picture with Stephen Stills you can see that there is a distance between the audience and the stage (I also remember that, since I was only 6 meters from the stage and there was a 1 meter gap between the front rail and the stage).

Another pic from Amsterdam, by Henry Diltz. The caption reads, "Stephen Stills waiting at the edge of the stage in Amsterdam in 1970, for the Rolling Stones to start their concert."

I say Hamburg, based on the security guy, the crowd in front, and the type of venue.

But if you look at Pos. 1:55 at [www.YouTube.com] you can see an upright steel structure (girder) at the right corner of the WEM-Monitor as well as another square-shaped Monitor - and this is missing in the original picture.

That exact spot in the tape proves it to be this show for me beyond any doubt.
Not because of the girder or the monitor. The angle of the shot is deceiving, those are behind/blocked by Jagger in the still and not visible.

But in blowing the picture up at the 1:55 mark, I can clearly see two individuals in the audience that are in the same place as the mystery photo. Not versed in posting a screen shot, but to the left of Jagger, just to the right of Wyman's shoulder, is the dude with blonde hair and glasses whose head is sticking up in the same spot as the still. Up from him a bit (next to Wyman's headstock) is the blonde girl with white top also seen in the same spot as the still.

Case closed for me cool smiley

I agree with MisterD and myself. It is Hamburg.

Also look at 1:01 - the way the lights on the roof are arranged in a straight line. Same as in the picture.

Yes, I've seen that before too - but some other details of the venue couldn't convince me yet. I would fully agree with a venue in Germany, but beside Hamburg there were 6 other German concerts in 1970 - all in an Arena ('Halle'). Maybe the security-guys and some fans were the same ....
