1999 No Security Out Of Control cage

I was reading some reviews from early 1999 shows. A cage onstage during Out Of Control was mentioned a few time.

Does anyone have a picture of it?

The "Cage",in Rolling Stones'lore, has turned into a symbol for a prop gone too far.

Mick shooting up through the floor was kinda cool.

The cage was weird (saw it in Oakland and Sacramento 1st show...gone by 2nd) but after it went away and became a topic of discussion, I was glad to have seen it.

I think it only lasted around 6 shows...it was not a good idea...maybe it is the '76 penis reinvented two decades later.

I remember when I first saw it I thought of the 2 female balloons on Honky Tonk Women from the '89 tour, which back then made me think of the big female balloon AC/DC brings out for Whole Lotta Rosie.

Sorta funny that on a "Stripped" down tour...they had a stage gimmick.

Hopefully the snot will be happy with the edit update.

Was it in ROLLING STONE that Mick talked about the cage and mentioned a lamp in the first few shows of the BRIDGES tour? Can't find anything.

If you watch the Tip of the Tongue documentary from the Four Flicks video (was up on YouTube but taken down), somewhere early on Mick talks about the stage designs they've had over years where he then says the new tour (Licks Tour) was in danger of having the cage again as a joke and shows a couple seconds of footage of the cage.

This thread inspired me to watch the 1999 San Jose show tonight. It was a good choice.

I'd love to see what Mick would come up with dancing with David Byrne's stand lamp.

I was at the second night of B2B in Chicago and don't remember a lamp. I remember that the bridge wasn't working yet. I also remember they had a cool video playing on the screen during YGMR that was dropped because YGMR was moved to the B stage. I'd like to find the vid, it was cool as I remember.

If they ever do a "final tour", they should bring back all of the props:

- inflatable penis
- Billy Preston dance (Sorry, Chuck...it's all on you now)
- firehose for the crowd
- cherry picker
- inflatable girls
- platform on top of stage
- the stilt walkers and jugglers who were scrapped for the SW tour
- b stage
- bridge
- cage
- Mick Taylor

Did I miss any?

- Buckets of flowers

- Boxes of butterflies

- Inflatable dogs (w/ giant q-tip)

- Live dancing girls

- The cobra

Yeah, no, hell no, none of that BS. Get Mick to stand at the microphone and concentrate on singing. Give him a harmonica for slow times. I don't go through all the hassle for some bloody three ring circus with the head clown running around the stage.

From the top of my head...

Tour announcements with a transportation theme...car, train, blimp etc..

Sorority girls in Phoenix 81 during Honky Tonk

Unfolding Star Stage 75

Black and White No Security 99 Video montage entrance

Tongue beer cups

On Stage seating

Cool paper tickets with logo from 81

The corn, bring back the CORN ...that made absolutely NO SENSE

Sleeping overnight outside on the sidewalk to get tickets

Sleeping overnight in the cement parking lot at the venue to get good seats for a GA show

Mega shows with several headliners

Oakland 78 outdoors, didnt a helicopter drop pink ping pong balls and blow up dolls over the crowd?

Somebody gave me a PP ball years ago, the pink was rubbed off though. Strangely enough, the ball was made in England

The highest paid clown in the world! I would too.
Like it or not, the Stones have always been good at impressing with props and making rock spectacular.
After all this is a rock'n roll show! It's not Bob Dylan.
