Why don't they let in outside songwriters.

A mate of mine proposed this a long time ago, he reckons they should put out a call for songwriters too submit their best "Rolling Stones" Songs.

I know plenty of songwriters who will write in another's style in a hope for them to maybe record it...

Example : Paul Stanley writing "Forever" and especially "Hard Lick Woman" in Rod Stewart's style.

Now this is Uncle Tony's suggestion, yes that Uncle Tony so be nice spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

That would demote them to "Aerosmith-like" rank? No good!

Otoh I'd dream of a meeting between Desmond Child and Keith : "F&ck off you stinky little turd! You pretend to teach me my job!!!??? Pierre!! Get me my switchblade!! Yeah the BIG one!!"

simply put: because they are the Rolling Stones
(beside that: 'Almost Hear You Sigh' is credited to Jagger/Richards/Jordan)

No way , then that would not be the Rolling Stones aka the Glimmer Twins . Before they ever do that they could toss Ronnie a credit as I think he only has one right ? Was it for Dance ?

Shouldn't be any problem, and I'm positive even Keith would approve if all songs were written by us on IORR, together, and posted here, lyrics and chords

....and a rocker in A-D with somef mildly offensive expressions every now and then, to keep relevant to the younger generation. I think we got a plan!

Ballad for Keith: "Sailing To Bali In An Open Fishing Boat" and a somewhat cheer-up-ballad for Mick: "Baking Princess Cake On A Sunny Day"

Oh, not bad, Rockman, but is that the ballad or the rocker?

They've proven to be absolutely capable of writing great, good, average, bad and awful songs. They don't need help.

Paul Stanley? You mean KISS?

Jesus Christ, now I have heard everything. Of course KISS does it, they got no talent beyond long disgusting tongues, and that only takes one so far.

They don't need that. They must have enough songs if Jagger can easily give one away to Brad Paisley of all people (Drive of Shame). It's just that they just don't believe in these songs. But authors are often the worst judges of their own work, or so the saying goes.

Sounds like an idea for a bad reality TV show.

If that was the alternative, I'd rather they just admitted the game is up and retire, to be honest.

Not at all a bad idea considering the fact that they don't write songs together anymore. What a, profiled and successful, outsider could do is to get them on hit charts again.
Which they haven't been that good at since SMU. Ask Charlie. If they can't produce hits on their own, let somebody else do it for them. Like Elvis or Sinatra did.
And it isn't such a big leap. Jagger is already stealing songs from the charts. Like Anybody Seen My Baby for instance.
