Putting Ringo ahead of Buddy Rich had to have been someone's idea of a joke.

Paul McCartney is a better drummer than Ringo.

Thanks. I needed a great laugh today. How a stupid comment.

Agreed. Stupid click bait bs.

Some dork--generally someone so young they haven't heard much and don't know anything--pulls random choices out of their ass.

It doesn't mean a thing.

No. 51:

Alex Van Halen

"[...]His devotion and toughness were pretty impressive too: A 1984 Rolling
Stone feature described a show opening for the Rolling Stones where Alex played
the entire with his hand broken in four places. "He couldn't even hold a
drumstick," journalist Debby Miller wrote. "So he tied the stick to his wrist
with a shoelace and went on with the show.

No he isn't. And Ringo is a fantastic drummer....subtle and nuanced. No pyrotechnics required....

He's also arguably a better guitarist than George Harrison. Some of the best lead guitar bits on Beatles records were actually played by Paul, not George.

Superior lead lines makes him a better guitarist?

That's just one part of the job smiling smiley

for my taste, in addition to Charlie and in no particular order:

Joseph « Zigaboo » Modeliste (18), Fred Below (55), Elvin Jones (23), Tony Allen (33), Jim Keltner (38), Manu Katché (57), Christian Vander (100).

Gabriel Parra, drummer of the Chilean Los Jaivas should have deserved a place. Nowadays, his daughter Juanita Parra, replaced him.

Agreed. Drummers know how good Ringo and Charlie are. Others are more impressed by the bombastic which is not to say that Keith Moon and John Bonham weren't perfect for the bands that they played in but so are Ringo and Charlie.

You know it´s a shitty list when Topper Headon isn´t in it.
I´d take him instead of Dave Grohl any time.

Well, the other Beatles certainly thought so, as they replaced his parts causing him to briefly quit.

This isnt click bait. Click bait is something that is not relayed to the title. It will then take you to an ad or something not related.

As far as I understood it Ringo was left-handed when he started to play the drumkit for a right hand set-up. Hence his own style.

The drumming on the White album and Abbey Road speaks for itself, not that there was anything wrong with his drumming on earlier albums.

George Martin was sufficiently unimpressed enough by Ringo to hire Andy White to drum on the single-version of Love Me Do. I wonder what convinced Martin to look more favourably upon Ringo's skills so shortly after that session?

Slam? Who the hell is writing this crap? Oh wait, it's Rolling Stone.

I'm glad to see Lars Ulrich didn't make the list.

Personally, I would have included Pentti "Whitey" Glan and John Densmore. Stevie Wonder is a very underrated drummer but not a "drummer", per se.

And I would have put Ringo higher up on the list, certainly ahead of Charlie.
